It was a search in the 'bicycles' category.

Call to Audi dealer this morning: "call Roadside Assist" they said. Roadside assist came out: "it's still got the same issue, they haven't fixed it". It's going back in on Monday 🤦😭

On the plus side, I quite liked the T-Roc 👍

One of Mrs.Skub's friends had one of those from new.
It development a load of random faults and the dealer couldn't find or fix them. Sound familiar? :silent:

See above. Filly's, now gone, car was an Arona. IIRC the SEAT equivalent :)

She has an Ateca now, is very happy with it.

For context, between us we've had:
2x Ibiza
2x Leon
Altea
Arona
Ateca

Tbf, all modern cars seem (a) the same, and (b) a bit of a gamble. Meh.

My Rangey developed a power loss fault, it’d die as you pulled away then take off like a scalded cat but no engine light on.I nearly got hit as I pulled onto a roundabout and it just lost all power. I phoned LR assistance and told them and that it was dangerous to drive, so they collected it. One output control solenoid later and all was welll again.

AA man told me sensors are the cause of most modern car faults and breakdowns and technicians that don’t understand diagnostic software don’t help either. Plus a lot of people stop using main dealer servicing and don’t get the ecu software updates.

Poor work

I recently bought myself a couple of Ralph Lauren long sleeve shirts and being a typical bloke, didn’t try them on until I got home. They fit great with one exception, the sleeves were around 1 inch too long. I take them to a local seamstress, try them on and they get pinned at the right length, just ‘breaking’ on my wrist with my arm by my side and still on the wrist with my arm extended.

I was in a rush picking them up so didn’t check them until I got home, they’ve taken nearly 3 inches off, the sleeve vent is all but non-existent and the cuff doesn’t even reach my wrist…

I’ll be taking them back tomorrow but I suspect, unless they can make them short sleeved*, I’ve just thrown £200 down the drain, I can’t imagine the seamstress will cough for them as no doubt there will be a ‘all alterations are at owners risk’ warning hidden somewhere in the shop.

* I’ve been made aware that long sleeved shirt sleeves taper from the shoulder and short sleeved ones run parallel, therefore it may not be possible/ might not look right.

I wasn’t but I’ve just popped on another shirt for reference and that is still the correct length.

Only a subtle difference and in fact, they’ve ‘expertly’ added two additional pleats to get the sleeve to fit the cuff.

Provided you have a written 'only take it up and inch', take them back and tell them that they owe you some new shirts!
If it's a proper shop, they should have worksheets they give to the outworkers.

Thanks, it is all done in house and I suspect the person doing it has simply cocked up and not correctly interpreted what the pin placement indicated. As can be seen from the photo, they can’t be salvaged as long sleeved shirts.

A couple of years ago, the neighbours popped round for a BBQ.
As usual handed me a few beers to put in the fridge. I noticed they were zero alcohol, then chucked them over the wall into their garden. Created great mirth :obscene-birdiedoublered:

There's a bloke I see sometime sometimes on my commute through the Blackwall Tunnel. All white Simpson helmet, wide bars and strategically-placed security chain covering the number plate. He's (I'm assuming gender here) a bit of a dick as it's a case of 'whah, whah, whahhhh!' on the throttle if he has to slow down at any point.

Anyhow, comes up behind me this morning as I'm bimbling through the traffic and straight away, 'WHAH-WHAH-WHAHHHHH' on the throttle as he wants to get past. Fair play, maybe he gets overtime or summat. So I look to my right and coming up is a gap I can just slip into. I've got no problem pulling in and letting folk past if they're in a rush. But just as I get ready to move right and stick my left foot out, he decides to go for the overtake, on the right, nearly taking us both out.
Cue more manic blipping of the throttle and what I think was a finger, albeit fleeting.

What I can't understand is, A: how can people be angry all the time? Must be fucking exhausting. And B: if you're always in that much of a hurry, set your alarm clock 15 minutes earlier.

I returned to the seamstress today who was mortified, she’d only handed the work off as she’d already called me with one delay and didn’t want any further delays. She instantly offered to reimburse me for the cost of the shirts. I suggested turning them to short sleeves and coming to an arrangement which she was very happy to agree to. First one will be ready on Wednesday afternoon, and pending approval, both by Friday.

It was a genuine error and met with the right attitude so no need to get shirty ( ;) ) with her. I’m over the initial annoyance and genuinely feel she’ll go out of her way to put things right with me.
