I've always wanted one, when I had my 250's the big boys had GSXRs and it was something to aspire to.
But I actually don't think they're that good, they look awesome, especially the Hyper, but to ride? I think they're old and a bit dated, same as my ZXR750H1.

I wouldn't mind an H (or even an L) ZXR, but the GSXR1100 is the one I really want, one of the oil cooled bikes.

I'm not really sure why, yeah it'll probably ride rubbish, but it will make up for my tiny cock.

The bloke saw me gawping and came over with a load of photocopied magazine articles and notes explaining how they work for me to take away and read (we were parked up opposite him in the paddock).

I don't. Interesting thing tho'... the fuel hose is attached to the jet tube that actually drops out the bottom of the carb when you open the throttle... that's why there's so much extra fuel pipe to allow for it to move.

Instead of a needle lifting, the tube drops. The static needle screws into the top of the body so it's dead easy to change

I'm really struggling to find a sensibly priced 1100 to fiddle with over winter.

Mines the 89 K model, the handling isn't modern but realistically neither am I.
For me its the best looking of the oilboilers but I'm unashamedly biased.
They seem to be getting expensive nowadays which to me isn't really a plus, was nicer when breakers had a load of cheap parts.
Currently mines a bit forlorn in the small shed but I'm helping my daughter buy a house with a garage so I can fire it in there for a while and knock up a better bike garage/workshop for myself.

I thought GSXR1100s were okay to ride, the 750 was nicer, but the 1100 is a genuinely quick bike in a straight line, 140bhp and no traction control, what's not to enjoy.

See that's a legit improvement that is. On my Bonneville the speedo drive comes from the rear wheel so the cable is about 8ft long.

It means the cable "winds up" loads then suddenly unravels when the tension is high enough. Net result is speedo which is constantly waving about.

This bike is making more and more sense.
