How about 'if the weather was different this country wouldn't be like this country any more'? It's just the price we pay for it being a rather nice place with some marv countryside. The sun just came out and everything looks rather trees are greening up, spring plants are abundant, birds are singing their beaks off, still lots of blossom about. I'll take that in exchange for the weather we get.

Yes in laws live in southern Spain and they have been lacking rain for about as long as we've been getting too much. Jet stream has shifted by the looks of it as they are getting very little and we are getting loads. It's the pleasure/pain principle applied to weather. I'm assuming in all this that rainfall globally is a zero sum game (or close to it), of course. Happy to be corrected.

We're in a drought here, sort of. The desalination plants are producing enough water, but about third is lost to leaks.Supermofo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 4:25 pmYes in laws live in southern Spain and they have been lacking rain for about as long as we've been getting too much. It's been very dry so farmer need to tap into normal supplies which is struggling.
They've been told to fix the leaks.

Re: Yamaha MT09SP
An expensive day. Annual service, new rear tyre (S22), and OE heated grips.
Had a Tracer 7 GT whilst the bike was in. Not a bad bike actually, fun to ride, but the brakes were awful. I know Yams aren't renowned for their brakes, but there felt really poor. My MT09's felt like a BSB set up in comparison.

Thought I might as well update this thread. Actually, there is no update. Hardly been out on the bike this year, maybe 1000 miles max, not sure. Thinking of selling up, but the used market is on its arse and can't be bothered with selling privately.

Absolutely dogsh1t if I'm honest mate. Had been hoping to do more on the bike, maybe a trackday or two, but it just hasn't happened. I'd probably regret selling it, so maybe I need to just leave that thought for now.

You're Congleton way I think? Give me a shout if you ever fancy a ride up into the Peaks or somewhere. I'm terrible company but having someone to ride with might encourage you out.

Thanks for the offer Chris.
Have this weekend to myself so decided to make the most of the settled weather. Up to the Dales via Clitheroe, Hawes, Sedbergh, and home. Enjoyed the ride, was nice to spend more than an hour on the bike.

Don't blame me. The only reason we didn't have it is because only 4 people wanted to go. If people are prepared to put in the effort the Pembrey would happen
