Talk to me about.....
A Kawasaki 125 b1 (I think)
Disc valve, drum front brake mid to late 60s.
It looks tidy enough (fresh paint and decent enough chrome), but will I get spares for it, when it eventually needs some!
An idea on price may be good, the gentleman has asked me to make an offer, and I have no desire to alienate him with '€50 and I'm cutting my own throat'

Re: Talk to me about.....
I'm not sure about the 125,but there are places such as Z-Power and Triple parts who do stuff for the disc valve twins the 250 Samurai and 350 Avenger. Ask the dude who's selling it,he'll know for sure.
Cute little bikes btw.

Re: Talk to me about.....
I assume it's a similar engine to the early KE125 I had, they're a good reliable engine but make sure the flywheel is right on the crank, mine used to break woodruff keys because it was worn, you have to take the flywheel off to change the points.
The main spares to check for are crank seals, it's probably going to need some, piston and rings should be okay as something will fit if you can't get originals.

Re: Talk to me about.....
Well that was a smidge disappointing!
Went to have a proper gander at it today, even took the van (just in case).
You could rattle the swing arm around in the frame mounting. Backed the brakes off and it was still an effort to roll around. Steering head had a 'significant' amount of slop. Lined the wheels up, but with the amount of play at the rear, it was plus or minus 25mm.
Got around to the motor, no gearbox oil in there......mmmm.
He had no oil, I had some in the van, so offered it to him. Kick... Kick....... Kick kick kick kick for about 2 or 3 mins, nary a sputter!
Popped the carb off, dry as a bone! Checked fuel tap......full of tank sealer residue!
So now we had fuel in the carb, kicked into life and it became apparent very quickly why there was no gearbox oil in it!
So what we had was a very shiny turd!
Funniest bit was when the old geezer asked if I was interested in it!
