Re: What have you done today thread?
This morning up not too early at 7.10am. Took prayers at church. Spoke with the roofer who is giving us a quote to fix the roof. I was then off to my other church to take the 10.30am Ash Wednesday service. Lent begins.
After the service I spend time with an elderly mum whose son is having an emergency heart operation this afternoon. Spoke with a young mum with two children whose father has walked out on her, taking the fridge/freezer and ancillary items from the house, including the bed and so on. My wife and I are giving her a spare fridge we have and the church sorted out food etc from our small food bank. She is trying to get Universal Credit sorted quickly.
About to head up the road to get a replacement microwave for the one we have that has cooked itself, the lining is all falling off. Then to fix a friends printer that is having a hissy fit. Back home to take the second Ash Wednesday service at 7pm in my big church.

Left the railway in the same state as it was handed to me last night (which is unusual, with my “luck” NR should really pay me to stay at home).

Is that one of the little huts sitting on the cliff top with large binoculars (I think there’s one at Boscastle?) Where do you do that ?Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 1:48 pm Very boring afternoon in the NCI lookout. Nothing to see, and if there was I wouldn't see it. Yes, my hut is near Charlestown on the south coast. A very quiet and misty south coast.MingtheMerciless wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 2:30 pmIs that one of the little huts sitting on the cliff top with large binoculars (I think there’s one at Boscastle?) Quite right too! Just 'cos they went in through the letter box and you're not sporting stitches doesn't mean they didn't go in and hack lumps off yer internals.

I don't thinks it's anyone famous, just a random bloke in a rainbow jersey. Anyone who has one won't wear it training, it's just for racing.

Never mind the camels. Going by the colour of your left sleeve, have you been worrying cows like an amateur James Herriot?

Got shown the video of the Russian bloke being scoffed by a tiger shark. It wasn’t exactly graphic, but very real. Horrible to see. Next time my colleague offers up his latest video to see, I'll decline.
The day ended on a positive note though, the wife and I have been drinking too many mojitos in TGi Fridays!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Took my bike for it's first service and bought a Triumph t-shirt while I was waiting. Then headed to The Chalet cafe for breakfast and then the rather lovely Six Bells, Chiddingly for treacle tart n ice-cream.
If the thermometer on the bike is accurate temperatures ranged between 11c when I set out and 16c by the time I headed home. Saw a lot of dry tarmac. Happy days.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I’ve been sat outside my friends cafe drinking wine most of the day!
Decamped inside when some friends arrived back from boarding
Now back outside for some music!!
It’s been quite a good day (especially since it turns out someone paid for the early wines )

Re: What have you done today thread?
My Tiger Rally Pro is in today for a service and first MOT. I didn't buy a t-shirt.
They did lend me a 660 Tiger though. Not my cup of tea.
Bit basic and gutless. Felt a bit cheap as well.
