We were going for a ride over to Sportsbikeshop in Preston, then onto North West Honda, however after we met, plans changed.
My mates BMW tractor wouldn't start,it appears the battery's flat.

He's with Bikesure, the breakdown van turned up & took him home.
My SV650 & my other mates Hyabussa both started without any problems.

It's a flat twin. Battery and all.

Why didn't he simply jumpstart it?

He was wary that jump starting it might spike something & as it was only a few miles from home so it was simpler to just take it home & recharge the battery.
He phoned up the bloke who services it to get some advice on what battery replace the current one,he told him to get a genuine BMW one,it's £170!
Me & my Hyabussa riding mate told him to get shut & buy a Suzuki :D

No,he doesnt sell them, told our mate to get a genuine BMW battery as he reckoned they were the best & as he services the bike my mate phoned the local BMW shop.I'd have shopped around & fitted either a Yuasa or Motobatt myself.

The motobatt I bought last year cost more than he's being quoted for a BMW battery :silent:

There's a lot of fake Motobatt batteries out there,he needs to be careful who he buys from.

My last one lasted about 14 months in my V1200 Guzzi.

Think I bought a fake one, as others have lasted 5+ years

The other evil one?

I tell myself it'll get more use when the weather properly improves and I'm going on longer jaunts.

@Skub just a thought; dunno if you ever venture to England on the bike, but Crich (village in Derbyshire) has an annual Classic Motorcycle Day (Sunday July 7th this year) and the chosen attraction will be Kawasaki triples... ! Interested?

Thinking aloud it might even be an option for the Forum Eggstravaganza...

My 2009 Yamaha is still on the OE battery. I've been expecting it to fail for the last five years... that's why a Shido is sitting on the shelf.
