No,he doesnt sell them, told our mate to get a genuine BMW battery as he reckoned they were the best & as he services the bike my mate phoned the local BMW shop.I'd have shopped around & fitted either a Yuasa or Motobatt myself.Skub wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 10:51 amI bet he sells them too.Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 8:46 am He phoned up the bloke who services it to get some advice on what battery replace the current one,he told him to get a genuine BMW one,it's £170!

The motobatt I bought last year cost more than he's being quoted for a BMW batteryBustaspoke wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 12:38 pm I'd have shopped around & fitted either a Yuasa or Motobatt myself.

There's a lot of fake Motobatt batteries out there,he needs to be careful who he buys from.

My last one lasted about 14 months in my V1200 Guzzi.
Think I bought a fake one, as others have lasted 5+ years

The other evil one?
I tell myself it'll get more use when the weather properly improves and I'm going on longer jaunts.

@Skub just a thought; dunno if you ever venture to England on the bike, but Crich (village in Derbyshire) has an annual Classic Motorcycle Day (Sunday July 7th this year) and the chosen attraction will be Kawasaki triples... ! Interested?
Thinking aloud it might even be an option for the Forum Eggstravaganza...

My 2009 Yamaha is still on the OE battery. I've been expecting it to fail for the last five years... that's why a Shido is sitting on the shelf.

Last time out on the Zuki for a couple of months.
The tax runs out today so I've SORN'd it,I'll give it a good service whilst it's parked up.I managed to get home just before the rain came in,hopefully the weather will be better in April.
Triumph's back on the road tomorrow

I'm sure my Dad's 2007 Fazer is still on it's original battery, he keeps waiting for it to die but it keeps soldiering on so far.The Spin Doctor wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2024 6:08 pmMy 2009 Yamaha is still on the OE battery. I did but as the tax runs out tonight & I've lots of other stuff going on I decided to SORN it for a couple of months & nip out on the Triumph if we get the occasional good day, also the Triumph's 12K service is booked in mid Feb,so I want to get it back on the road & make sure it's running without any faults before it's service.

That's a bit like cleaning the house before the cleaner arrives.Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 8:33 pm I did but as the tax runs out tonight & I've lots of other stuff going on I decided to SORN it for a couple of months & nip out on the Triumph if we get the occasional good day, also the Triumph's 12K service is booked in mid Feb,so I want to get it back on the road & make sure it's running without any faults before it's service.
