Is other than the riding other bikes is there many reasons to go fully comp??? I’ve always been TPFT.
Years ago when I switched to comp insurance it was actually cheaper in some instances to go fully comp. I also go comp as then I'm covered if I stack it by myself being stupid.

I’ve had enough shit happen on the way to or from work that I don’t think it’s worth the lie.

Car insurance: Our Up GTi quote is £317, cf £189 last year. Best I can get via comparison sites is £307, so not worth arguing. I’m an old duffer with decades of NCB, and live in Cornwall which is the lowest rated ins area. I think we’re going to have to get used to it, tho I can’t quite see why, logically, premiums have risen so much in a year?

JOOC, I ran through a quote for a VW ID3, which is a mid range electric alternative….£540!

There's a thought that insurance companies have suddenly cottoned onto the repair costs (or non-repairability) of Teslas...

They've snuck in a clause about denying claims in the absence of a "warranted secondary security such as a D lock, disclock, padlock and chain, immobiliser or other similar device." in addition to the usual immobiliser stipulation.

I'll have to give them a call after all.
Yup. I raised this before as I found the same thing. If you declare a security device, it has to be fitted or your claim is denied.

Thing is that I've not declared one & it's a new paragraph in the terms. Sneaky buggers.

Yes they are getting proper sneaky. I said due to the weight of my almax and pragmisis chains, i use one at home and keep the other at work, so my bike gets locked. The girl said if I declare them they must be used and there wasn't any way i could list them as separately used items?? :wtf:

Yeah I think that was the gist of this article.

Didn't someone say on here that not all bike Ins Cos take on leccy bikes?

Switched to Devitts - Bennetts shenanigans aside I've gone from £108 to £66 with an extra 1000 miles.

Devitt are one of the couple of companies that will insure me for business use as an instructor…… out of the 2 they are the ones I went with to insure the Fazer

They also give a discount voucher for sportsbikeshop dot com which I put towards replacement kit each year ;)

I didn't know about the discount voucher.... The Rockster is insured through Devitts because they handle the BMW preferential insurance scheme.

Thanks Dodgy. UK insurers that insure those of us living in the EU. Good cover and a very good price. Even spoke to them on one point, seem a pleasant company to deal with.

Could not find a single company here that insure me to use a bike over 125cc. I was only told this when I asked that specific question.

Wonder how many people have travel insurance that won't be of any value should they make a claim in connection with an accident on their larger than 125cc bikes.?

Ye, I spoke to them, told them exactly what I was doing, how long, where to etc, I was put on to them by a regular euro bike traveller. 👍

Age is just a number, and as long as you're enjoying your ride, that's what matters most. Plus, getting a good deal on insurance is always a win.

What scheme is this?

I was with devitts when I had the Himalayan and they refused point blank to insure the GS without a garage. Despite insuring the K12 no worries.
