I got bored with WFH, just just spent an hour or so cutting the grass - sweaty and covered in grass clippings now!

Definitely a bit chillier here in southern France. It's dropped below 20 deg C overnight. And we've actually had some rain. But not too much.

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

No, I'm going tomorrow, I suspect it was last night's Indian meal followed by Fish and Chips for lunch from the canteen at work, the fish didn't taste fresh, I seem to be okay now following my minor weight loss episode earlier.Count Steer wrote: Fri Sep 22, 2023 7:54 pmWeren't you in Liverpool recently? Re: Friday thread.... getting cold in Sept????
We went to Liverpool, 4 hours ish each way, on the way there we had a loo break at a truck stop near Warrington, Lyme I think, it was all fatties with fake tan and fags, it really was grim.
Parked in Paddington Village multi story car park, which was genuinely nice for a multi story car park.
Has an interesting day looking at the Archaeology Dept at Liverpool University, who knew Neanderthals had bigger brains than modern humans and forearms like Popeye?
Discovered that the women of Liverpool are best described as sturdy and the blokes as small and ratty (this a massive generalisation based on a very small sample seen between the M62 and the University, and is purely for comedy puposes)
Drive back was fine, we discovered the mashed potato from KFC is disgusting, and apparently it tastes worse than it smells.
Today I am mostly being knackered.

Apparently Neanderthals also liked to get busy with the local Homo Sapiens too, which might explain some of the people you saw.

Tuesday I will be traversing the area of hate and driving past Weeksy's on my way to Southampton, returning eldest off spring to University, not the quickest route, but it's nicer than the M25.

There's literally an entire movie/game/book/comic/theme park franchise about how bringing back extinct animals with genetic engineering is a bad idea!
