Friday thread.... getting cold in Sept????

Post by weeksy »

Getting chillier already.. that was a very disappointing summer for sure.

Fri. WFH and loading van, straight off at 3.30 driving north and west... route, well, slightly unknown. Arriving in Ffestiniog and unloading gazebo hopefully. Kipping in AirBNB
Sat. Antur Stiniog for practice all day for the lad. Then a few beers and try to sleep on a cold mountain in Wales Brrrrrrrr
Sun. Race day... National DH series. Big boys league... Then long long drive home...

It's going to be a slightly challenging weekend this one i think.

Today - WFH as usual, may pop out and get my ears lowered. Perhaps out for drinks and grub with the wife this evening.

Sat - Back on the decorating grind as I've had about 6 weeks off of it and the house boss is starting to grump - we had a wood burner installed last week in the living room so I've got to make good the 'finish' plastering of the installers and re-paint. Also re-paint some door frames as we had new internal doors fitted and a few of the frames had to be altered

Sun - Go visit my mum and have to endure teaching her how to use a new mobile phone I've got for her, her pre-historic mobile no longer works as they've switched off 3g in her area. Back home and vino time

Alicante to Bilbao tomorrow, cheap hotel then ferry to Rosslare on Sunday morning. The ferry arrives on Sunday afternoon then a three hour drive to the old man's place. Twelve days in Ireland then over to England to finish clearing out my storage container and hand the keys back.

Today - Working till about 2, got to go get my hair cut after without fail as i am full chewbacca at the moment. My afternoon school is near the centre so might treat myself to a posh barbers in cabot circus then go get some munch as my funds are not to bad this month (mainly as i have not bought anything for 3 months).

Tonight - Back to work on a new Deep House track in the eve and do a new breaks/dubstep mix from some records i have been selecting over the past few weeks.

Sat - Fuck all, hopefully my order for some weed gummies will arrive before sat afternoon!

Sun - Over the parents for a roast then back to mine to meet my mate Ranking Snoopy to go through a few things for an up coming new radio/mixcloud stream we shall be doing next month with a few others. It will be good for me as i shall meet some new veterans of the reagge/dancehall scence so will make some good links for other meets further down the line, the guy who's studio we shall be doing it in has also been in the reggae scence since the mid 70's.

Today - sorting paperwork and packing :D

Tomorrow, lift down the mountain, quick stop at a post office (the one up here only opens Tuesday and Thursday at the mo and I NEED to post the licence stuff!) then meet up with someone who is going to give me a lift to Lyon airport. A few hours (about 5) hanging about at the airport then fly to Heathrow - meet my brother and go to his to watch Strictly! might have to save the Ireland rugby match for the bus journey to Bristol on Sunday!!

Sunday - get a coach to Bristol, meet my goddaughter and her fiancé, they are driving me to Wells to meet up with some old friends, after coffee and food, he'll drive me to my other mates place so I can catch up, but mostly so I can give him a hug cos his son is still in ICU. Then will get driven to my Mums house for tea and stay the night :D :D

The following three days follow a similar format, different house every evening but will catch up with most of the family and a small handful of friends :D :D Back in France just before midnight on Weds and home sometime on Thursday!!!

Oh, it snowed last night on the mountains the other side of the valley :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

Rounding off a holiday weekend (FLASH tour), so going through the photos today, and then tinkering in the workshop I think... (or something).

Saturday: most likely gardening, maybe a bike ride

Sunday: lunch with some friends.

Mostly chilling out and enjoying not having to do any work. :D

Friday; finish taking bedroom and bathroom fittings off in prep for decorator next week. Finish packing and organising for holiday to Cornwall next week. Collect hire car as our wanky Nissan can’t be trusted not to fall to bits on a long journey. Load hire car with stuff, hopefully it all fits, then squeeze in 4 dogs and Mrs M and drive to Cornwall (with mildly incontinent old dog so that’ll be interesting).

Saturday; arrive in Cornwall, unload motor, sleep. Then “Dawn patrol”surf or swim or survival lesson powered by monster/red bull. Then dog walk at Widemouth Bay followed by food shopping, then meet the old man and wicked Step Mother.

Sunday, repeat of above though without shopping.

Got to strip the rear caliper on the Triumph - Rebuild kit and vacuum bleed thingy showed up yesterday so no reason to put it off. Rear droplinks on the Triumph need to either come out or have a load more penetrating fluid sprayed on them again.

Need to install a new router and set up the old one as an access point upstairs, probably need to find a new home for it too as it's in the utility above the microwave which keeps interfering with it. Every time it drops the Sky Q boxes need reconnecting to internet and then to each other too which gets boring very quickly. Master socket is 30ft and 3 walls away from where I need ethernet which limits me to wi-fi.

He really digs archeology, then?

I'll get my coat, trowel and finds bucket....

We're out for a ruby tonight, although Mrs. G has a bit of a cold. She's a trooper. A nice spicy curry will sort her right out.

Saturday I have find myself unexpectedly escorting the fruit of my loins up to Euston and waving goodbye on a steam-filled platform as she buggers back off to Manchester, like something out of a 1940's film. I also need to go rummaging around charity shops, but that's another story.

Sunday, not much I hope. There's a hanging tile I need to replace on the outside of the house. Just need to pluck up the courage to get on the roof, as I bloody hate heights.

The weather is shite so not away in the camper. So probably running around after the old and infirm. I might get a blue light and some nee naws fitted to my car! It'll actually be nice to have sod all to do all weekend, but I suspect some domestic chores will be found for me. Think i'll book up a Sunday roast somewhere to make sure I swerve that! :D

Having seen the pic of that missing tile and, at the risk of coming on all elfin safety, I recommend you don't. :D Send a handy street urchin or better still, a tiler.

I know we're a hard-hearted bunch but the thought of your poor, broken body lying in the rose bed isn't v nice....and the roses will suffer too. :(

PS Sunday's a crap day for staffing levels in hospitals, they leave it to the junior staff.
