Re: VFR1200F DCT
I had a low reading digital gauge, turned out the battery was low.
Once replaced it match the analog one again

Re: VFR1200F DCT
This was a draper analogue one which is why I didn’t question the thing. Don’t know what happened to it, probably dropped it and damaged it at some point.

Re: VFR1200F DCT
I should check mine sometime, it's getting on a bit. God knows how accurate it is.

Re: VFR1200F DCT
I like the RACEX RX0014 Tyre Pressure Gauge a lot. Fits in wheels nicely and works well. Now have three of these and they all read the same. You can get them from amazon for about ten quid...

TBF, it annoys me it's in bar rather than PSI.
GS does, is it accurate ? plus I check before setting off and once I'm going I forget what bars are.

Next time you're in a half decent cocktail bar, ask for a Long Island, you won't regret it.

Re: VFR1200F DCT
Changed the tires today to some road 4s. Had to adapt the tyre balancer by putting the cones in backwards and making them wider with tape. The result will be close enough. Picture below shows the rear wheel hub and the separate handbrake calliper.

Re: VFR1200F DCT
Not ridden the dct version of this, but ridden 2 (both grey!!!) normal ones.
How Honda manage to make a 160hp bike seem 'dull' beggars belief.
They did the same thing with the Blackbird!
With a serious amount of all up mass, not the best bike for the short of leg to manoeuvre in a car park either.
Haven't read the whole thread, but sorting the suspension out is certainly money well spent btw.

Re: VFR1200F DCT
Fooled by the tread. Mounted the tire to the wheel correctly but installed the wheel the wrong way round because the tread looked right. Fitted no problem but tc and abs lights wouldn’t go out and the dct box wouldn’t change out of first.
Took me a few minutes to figure out this one. Was checking the wiring on the abs sensor and then noticed that the sensor wheel was on the other side of the bike.

Really happy with the new tyres. It carves instead of tramlines now. Very confidence inspiring, even in the rain.

Re: VFR1200F DCT
Rode the bike to Norfolk on Saturday to put the bike in storage for the move which is the first longer distance run I've had on it at speed. It's really good and at motorwayish speeds the wind just takes all the weight off your wrists. However you're still in a sports touring position and therefore not sticking out in the wind like you would be on an adventure bike relying on a large screen. I know some of you will argue this point but this is (important point - for me) a million times better than the ktm 1190 position and buffeting. Also the fairing directs the vast majority of any light rain straight past you. I was wearing jeans in the rain and they didn't even get damp. Great bike for distance.

Re: VFR1200F DCT
Mate on our tour was on a K1600 and that looked supremely comfy and very effective at keeping weather off. He was moaning about the quality of the stereo though
