41degrees forecast today. It's usually a few degrees warmer at my house than the village so I'm expecting 45 this afternoon, it's already 30.

Waking up after a night shift, one more to go, ugh!

I used to do a 18:00 - 06:00 shift, you soon get used to having full dinner and a couple of bears at 8 in the morning. the 3 days a week off were a bit of a bear though

Found some respite from short heatwave up in the hills at our fave place.
We come here at least twice a month. Great food

We had one day over 40 this week, it's back to the usual 32 now. We're off over towards Seville for a couple of days this week, then staying with a mate in his cave in Galera for a night. At least the cave will be fairly cool.

This is just 3 or 4 days. Then back to a steady 30c every day.

Pop down to Lerryn. Lovely little village, car park on the river where you can stay overnight, great pub. Bit narrow getting there, but you’ll be fine if you’re not too huge. I assume you’re in a van?

My train this morning has just hit a tree between Manningtree and Ipswich, not going anywhere now - should have stayed in bed!

Just cooked green Thai chicken curry, with added leek, celery, broad beans and spinach, washed down with a delightfully cheeky chilled Picpoul de Pinet.
There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.

I wasn't driving, passenger, but as a contractor to the operator and technically competent ( ) had to get involved with supporting traincrew.MingtheMerciless wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 7:40 amOne you were at the pointy end of? 4 hours to detrain with NR and BTP staff, then await recovery - once the recovery boys arrived I beat a hasty retreat back in the direction of home and pick up the day job!
Pretty significant damage to the train and pulled down 200m of OHL.
