You've got five grand...

Post by Potter »

...to buy a bike, you have to ride it every Sunday morning for a fun blast and it has to be something you think you'd enjoy.

What you got?

I'm struggling to be honest, I thought that would be enough for something tidy but pickings are slim unless you're looking for something quirky or an older bike, I saw a couple of nice YZR750's or a nice Exup.

If he won't drop the £500, i'll take this one and have a grand spare.

My bestest Sunday mornings were on the KTM390 Duke. So, one of those. And some MTM leathers with the spare cash (well, maybe, no idea if the 390's are still the same sort of price as they used to be! Might have to be a new lid instead!! LOL)

Would be freaking awesome around here :D :D

If I lived in the middle of nowhere/countryside and there was plenty of trails, probably a KLX250 or a CRF300.

As a road bike, I'd buy my Bullet 500 again and spend the rest on drugs and hookers.

My first choice would be a first Gen. tuono factory with the Ohlins and carbon and stuff, second choice would be a SD, this one is lovely

Have you seen Bullet wanderer on YT?
I've never ridden a Enfield single but it looks enjoyable watching him touring at a sedate pace on his Enfield

Just had a look, same B5 model as mine, it's even the same dark green colour. I love mine.

I'm still not seeing anything to tickle my fancy, but maybe it's not the bike, it's the circumstances and where you're riding, you can have a brilliant time on anything I suppose if the moment is right.

For me it would be something along the lines of an older GSXR 1000 or 750. Maybe even try and get a K5/6 thou and enjoy that.

Yeah, I was interested in what other people would choose, and I thought it might give me some pointers in directions I hadn't thought about.

I like the look of the trumpet, but if I was going in that direction I'd probably get another RE 650, that was a cracking bike for five grand.

If you enjoyed the RE 650 try a 865 Bonnie or a W800 Kawasaki

Is the right answer.

Either a very early one (06-08) with the sharp geometry. Or an R with it's longer rear shock designed to mimmic the early frames.
