Just watched and I think it's ace for today's roads. Don't think pegs were a massive issue. Harder seats are usually fine . CC on the rhs isn't a problem either. Nice low seat, enough power and I like the kind of bagger look with the fairing thing. Didn't say how big the tank was. ?

Personally I'd have this over the AT. The adventure look is done and this look is where it's at. I'd have one tomorrow.

When I had my Sportster it had mid controls like the Rebel. But I put forwards on it and it was a game changer for comfort. I believe you can get forwards for these now? S/hand market makes them interesting. Just under £8k here https://www.bikesinstock.co.uk/bikes-fo ... 161438.htm

The fuel tank capacity of Rebel 1100 is 13.6 L.

That's silly, and might be an issue for TiePin.

I'd be tempted to look at that Rebel 1100. Busy roads, stop/start . It'll have a low seat, go/stop well enough, luggage options.

And is absolutely hideous to look at

Much better review and on my roads too! Its an interesting bike, but above what I want to spend on a bike at the moment. I dont think i'll go and look at one but if I see one in dealers I'd love to have a sit on one just to see what the fit is like. Forward control kits would be needed I suspect. They seem to range from 1500 euros down to $169!

I could get a AT for what i'll sell the Ducati for then punt the CB1R on I suppose? But I do have reservations about the AT. Not exactly enamored with the thought of another NC750X either, but think that the more likely of the two? I think the problem is, I actually like the CB1R more than I thought I did! Not even had a sniff on the Ducati anyway, so plenty of time to contemplate the merits of the various options...

I was thinking it was odd that there's only really Honda pursued the Auto thing, but then I thought maybe the others are just skipping it for leccy motors.

The only other manufacture I can think of that produced a proper automatic was 'prilla with the Mana, but I don't think it was anywhere near as clever as DCT, it might have just been a big CVT.

Yes, thats how I remember my last one, just as it gets going, its out of revs. But they do make excellent, economical commuters...

Why does changing gear hurt your knee, is it the up and down movement, or is it the twisting movement as you move your foot past the gear lever, or both?

Also, why don't motorcycle gear levers have a forked gear lever with one bit that goes over your foot and another bit that goes under?

Both, its not the actual knee, more the tendons or muscle around it. Downside to commuting in a city i suppose as you're up and down the box all the time. Even when i had my own knees i'd get bored of it, hence going to scoots at times.
