I've also bought a legal smoked visor to go with it, rather than the one with the external flip-up dark shade, which I didn't get on with very well previously.

The helmet's fine, albeit a bit noisy, unless all vents are shut and the visor's locked in place. It got noisier on a recent trip to France, and I couldn't initially figure out why. Then I noticed that one of the eyebrow vents had fallen out. I sent it back to Sportsbikeshop, who said they couldn't get a replacement until a month's time, so I've taken a refund. I've decided to stick with the clear visor and use polarising yellow clip-on sunglasses with it when it's sunny. I'd been doing this with the old helmet since I lost the external flip-visor, and it worked pretty well, so I'm not really sure why I decided to go back to a legal tint in the first place.

Having removed the visor to fit the supplied pinlock, I can honestly say I much prefer the older visor change. People complained about it, but I had it down to a tee, I could swap a visor in seconds.

This new one is just mad.

I didn't really like the Quantic originally because of the 3D badger/emblem. It was quite a while later that I bothered to find out that it was an air duct, daft as I am.

I'm due a helmet sometime this year & it might well be one of these. I do wish Arai would sort their graphics/colours out, though. This one's definitley one of the best, for me.

I've fitted my Cardo intercom, there's some nice touches. The cheek pads have channels in them for the cables and there's a pre-cut bit of foam you can pull out and replace with the speakers in the cheek pads.

The standard visor is profiled so that the pinlock is kind of counter sunk, so there's no raised edge to the pinlock when fitted.

I find the catchy thing for unlocking the visor a little difficult to work on the go, but I'll get used to it. On the older Arai's it just clipped/unclipped, this has a rocker arm to help, but I just not used to it.

The one I tried in the shop fit like a glove, this one is box fresh so not been on/off a hundred times and it still a little tight, but I have only done 120 miles today so I'm confident it will bed in a bit.

I dunno if it's quieter than my Axcess III or my Tour-X4 as I always ride with plugs in.

The vents work well, I accidently left one of the forehead vents open and couldn't work out why one side of my head was freezing until I took it off and spotted the open vent.

My HJC Rpha 11 is very very comfy, had 2 in,
Currently using a RHPA-1
Coming in at around 18 hours and it’s still hurting my forehead.

I can’t understand how they fit so different

The place I bought my Quantic had a HJC RPHA-1 Pol Espargaro rep for a very good price, I couldn't even get it half on my bonce in a Medium. Yet the 11 and the 71 I tried fit ok in medium, just no where near as comfortable as a medium Arai (excluding the RX7).

I take a medium too and the HJC RPHA-1 was too tight,so I changed the cheek pads for a size smaller to get a good fit. I bet that would work for you too,though it was about 45 quid for the cheek pads.

I couldn't get my head in the 1, it wasn't just tight, I couldn't get my head in it. All the other HJC's in the same size I could at least get on my head.
