I had a courtesy car with wireless charging built in, you chuck your phone into the cubby hole in front of the gearstick and it charges.

Brilliant stuff.

You can get a pad on a USB cable that will do it, for non-wireless phones.

Pro-Ject what?

I've got a Pro-Ject 1 Xpression Carbon. It's not high end, but it's light years ahead of what budget turntables used to be like. The old Dual 505 was a bargain for under a ton though back in the day :)

https://consumer.huawei.com/uk/laptops/ ... 3-amd/buy/

There's a new one out in 3 days, so it was already discounted and then after all the discount codes.. £494.99 delivered.

I was tempted to wait for the one with the 2nd Gen Ryzen, but it'll be £750... and I won't get a free mouse and backpack :)

I've had an A1 and an A5 amp, a CD3 and a CD5 over the years....

Still got the A5 and CD5 in the loft. I sold the other stuff to a mate in about 2002.

My new iPhone 11 Pro max for many reasons, but things like it asks me f I want to set the do not disturb mode during the appointment times i have in my diary. Alos the short video I just knocked up for our web guys in about 5 minutes using the phone and my DJi osmo gimball was apparently bloody amazing! Also my Yoshi car vent mag mount and Siluxy hard case makes using the phone and google/applemaps super easy and they are much better than the crappy BMW built in thing.

Do not disturb is a pretty standard feature, s'been around for donkeys. Of course, Apple will claim its an innovative new thing they invented ;)

You should also be able to make it automatically come on at set times. Mine is active between 22:00 and 07:00 except for certain people and anyone who calls more than 2 times in 15 minutes for example.

Does a 'pleasing purchase from 1981' count for this thread?

Foal is really into music (playing instruments, listening, gigs, etc.) and has a small 'record player' for new vinyl.

So, a couple of months back, we dragged some of my hifi down from the loft and dusted it off.

Foal was impressed by the sound :)

I was going to flog it all, but he wants it for whenever he gets his own place.

Yes I've used it for years too, but it was the prompting/suggesting to use it during the appointment period I liked.

Twix "winter spice" choc bar. Technically Mrs D bought it but who's counting.

Basically a Twix made with gingerbread rather than regular biscuit. Loads better.

The new beast has arrived.

Now I shall strip and service the old Rocket Evo, and flog it. Should get good money for it, they are around £1700-1800 new, and once I give it a full strip and service - it will be as good as new.
