You do realise that Couchy has an unassailable lead in the "Bikes I've owned" competition.... don't you?

The only two people I know who've owned them are girls.

Ergo, it's a girls bike.

Nicely done, regardless of you sexual identity.

Taipan wrote: Fri Jun 09, 2023 4:18 pm The new bike thread started out as a bit of fun, but I kinda got hooked on the CB1000R. Some outside forces came into play too and the next thing I know is I've pulled the trigger on this! Couldn't help it, as it was love at first sight! :? Should get it late next week hopefully? Anyone want to buy a Ducrappy!

You sir are all fucking kinds of mental :D :D :banana-wrench:

'outside forces' you mean lunchtime Stella ?
Lol, no my daughter just got stiffed on her mortgage. She’s moving from a shared ownership to a fully mortgaged one. I said to check her current one is portable and they said it was. Now just as she’s due to exchange contracts, they’re saying it’s not portable as it was on a shared ownership and she’s just been hit with just under £5ks worth of redemption fees. I can’t see her heartbroken so bank of Dad is going to step in. Getting some cash back on the Ducati will help that. So I get a better fuelling bike and she gets fully on the property ladder. Much win here! 😁
You really are a great bloke and a top dad (and I am sober)

I had no idea they did these with sliding calipers, is it an early one or what's the craic?

Must be from the era when ABS was an option, not standard fit.

The ABS ones got the three pot sliders rather than the four pot radials of the Non-ABS version

My 66 year old Dad has one too.

Girl's or OaP's bike.

Top purchase rapidity though

You sir get the "Dad Hero" badge of the year. Lovely Honda that and perhaps it will fuel better than the Ducati. My neighbour had one of those in blue and loved it. Properly quick as well!

Retuned Fireblade engine and apparently quicker than the Fireblade to 60!? I'm more interested in what its like at 30mph on part throttle! :D

I kept looking at the Ducati yesterday and lamenting its forthcoming departure, but now new bike excitement has kicked in and the Ducati is dead to me! :D; Despite it being the worse fuelling bike I've ever owned,it was equally the most exciting bike. I get why people love them as they are a rabid dog of a bike, constantly egging you on.They don't like to pootle about they want more more more! Its a pitbull more than a labrador. Very glad I've owned one that for sure, even if the damn thing did get me nicked! :? :D

Email just received! Looks like I'll get it this week!

For the life of me i'll never understand insurance. Ducati on its own £558. New policy with the Duc and the Honda £413. :wtf: I assume they're seeing it as split risk?

By all accounts they're great bikes and you'll probably like it better than the Ducati, I'll be a monkeys uncle if it's still in your driveway by autumn though :D

They know you are halfway to getting shot of the Duc and with a great sense of relief they are rewarding you.

Turns out I’m as thick as mince! The policy was £840 but I got £400+ back on the old policy so that was the balance!!

Looks like one of those neoprene shock boots, with a bit of corporate branding

Pretty random company logo to have on there, seems they don't even have a UK site.

Anyway, it's somebody's company branding, used on some sort of extra mudguard for protecting the shock absorber. Not a bad idea as long as it's not rubbing paint away.
