Bleeding brakes

It’s what we call reverse bleeding.

I’ve been lucky over the years as I have never really had an issue bleeding brakes both on motorbikes and cars, really lucky.

Thank you. I have been told of this before, but would not have remembered!! And do so need to do the rear brake on the Monster when I've got it back to the garage I use in summer! Certainly need some rear brake before I take it to be checked for the certificate to get it registered - once it's registered, I can change the rear brakes for a set up I've been recommended!! LOL Need it standard for now and everyone has said - they are all that shit!! LOL LOL

Pretty much how we recharge bike hydraulic systems: Shimano, Avid, Sram etc. Either two syringes, one on the caliper, other on the master cylinder, or just on the caliper and a small reservoir on the master cylinder. Push and pull......

Pretty much what I do, any container I can get my hands on really.

Works great the first time only in my experience. After that you'll have lost the syringe or broken it in the tool box by putting something heavy on it.

I prime an empty system by sucking it through with me ol' lungs, and a long tube.
When I was younger I was dismissive of any potential health issues from this. Now I'm older I just assume the damage has already been done.

I wasn't going to bother posting about something so trivial, but after about forty years of buggering around with bikes I've finally sussed how to fill a hydraulic brake system and I thought it might help someone.

Put it all together on the bike and orientate the bars so that the MC is level.
Put brake fluid in a big syringe.
Attach to calliper nipple with some clear flexible tube and loosen nipple.
Push brake fluid in from the calliper and watch carefully for when it reaches the MC.
Tighten nipple, top up MC as required and enjoy, no air bubbles and no mess.

It took literally less than five minutes.
The hours I've wasted bleeding brakes in the past.

I think you can buy fancy kits that draw a vacuum and pull fluid down from the MC and self bleed, but for the price of a syringe this works a treat.

I took my LC for a spin to celebrate.

I did, they're used for getting colostrum supplements stuff into new lambs.

It would be nice to have some bleeding brakes...on my mount (when it goes) the only thing the brakes do (and only the back one at that) is put the brake light on, and apply minute amounts of retardation.
Bleeding brakes? You'll be telling me next that bikes have hydraulic brakes and those shiny plate things.

I can highly recommend the ease of fitting cable brakes.

The rest of it is so so.
