Was reading somewhere recently about fuel tank sizes and why some bike's are so small. MT 09 is 14L. Light about 120 i think, not rode it for ages. 18L would be nice and get a happy 150 til light. I just don't like putting fuel in anything. 🤷‍♂️

If I ride like Taipan I can get 180 miles out of my GSXS 750 tank, if I ride like me, it's more like 140.

Tarquin says he's never out of 2nd and 3rd gear,so 180 miles to a tank would be pretty cool.

I usually get 145-170 out of the GSXS 1000 depending on how I'm riding. That's 17 litres. Usually I get at least 155.

8-) - I nearly bought the exact same model ( not that actual bike though) last week-end, but just missed out.

I test-rode the 1000 for over an hour when it first came out back in 2011 fully expecting to buy it there and then but came away without it slightly non-plussed at the time and preferring my V2 Tuono I'd arrived on.

Still not sure why that was, as I'd read every test on it, and in theory it was a done deal before I swung a leg over it, but things have changed a bit since then for me and it's an itch I will definitely be scratching properly at some point in the future.

Anyway, fingers crossed- hope this example is a good one and you buy it - If you do I'll have to pop over on the V2 for a gander

Local (to me) dealer has had a 2016 for sale for the last year or so. Looks nice. 12k is a lot for a 7 year old bike, though. Opinion seems to be,the finish on the older bikes is way better than the more recent 1100 model.

That’s a lot of money. The one I’m seeing is a 2013 advertised at 6300. I had my ktm for sale on fb and he messaged me to enquire about a swap as he was looking for an sd.

A big advantage of age is that this will cost me 100 to add to my current multi bike policy.
