Re: New bike time
Is that the same engine that's in the V85TT?
If so there's a chap called Beetle (Mark) who does maps for them https://griso.org

Re: New bike time
I think they say 'derived from' the V85TT...so pretty much.
I do, very much, like an 'across the frame' V-twin shafty.

Re: New bike time
Yes, it's been detuned and under stressed which is good. Apparently the latest map has sorted out some of the low rev jerkiness. I've been pleasantly surprised at how smooth it is.Ditchfinder wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 4:21 pm Is that the same engine that's in the V85TT?

Was it the pic of the nice lady doing a wheel stand on a Guzzi that pushed you over the edge?

Re: New bike time
That was gonna be my question! I really like the V7 but ~50bhp appeals less. Dunno why MG can't put the full fat V85TT engine in there.
Lovely bike though chap, I even like the brown seat!

Re: New bike time
I've always fancied owning a Guzzi & yesterday someone pulled up at the pub on the 'cafe racer' version of the V75,lovely looking bike.
What are the Guzzi's like for dealer backup?

Re: New bike time
I thought all Moto Guzzi had the same engine as they all look like the same big lump
Happy new bike day @Buckaroo

Re: New bike time
They're known as small block engines amongst the guzzi community.
My v7 850 produces approximately 66 bhp which with almost max torque at 3500 rpm, does more than a decent job of shifting you around. Not going to pull your arms off, but that's not what it's about. Zero to 60 in 5 or so seconds. That'll do for me. Sounds great too.
Dealer backup is much improved with Piaggio group behind it (Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia and MG) I've got a pretty good choice of dealers within a reasonable distance. That said, these bikes are ideal for doing your own spannering. Just without tons of technology to fight with. I've already done more fettling and exploring with this bike than I can remember.

Re: New bike time
Few years back I bought a V7 II Special.
It looked lovely, but I couldn't get it to handle right. Even with Hagon's best custom made shocks on the rear. For the III they moved the upper shock mounts so they weren't laid over as much, I assume it was to help with handling. I've not ridden a III so can't say if it's any better.
I sold it to buy a 92 GSXR1100.
