Motorcycle travel insurance

Been looking at this and have been warned some companies don't cover bikes or 125+ bikes. Some don't even make it obvious if cover includes travelling by motorcycle.

Any guidance or recommendations??

It depends on where you're travelling to.

I used Yellow Jersey, as they covers me for MTB up to 3k m, for Morzine. They are also unlimited in what bikes I could ride - as long as I had a licence

Ye, they usually show single trip or yearly, only need single, but it's a bloody mine field.

I use Post Office for travel insurance because they do cover riding bikes over 125cc. (Which I've confirmed several times)

I use Carole Nash travel insurance for me and my girlfriend. No cubic capacity limits.

So far, Caroline nash for single trip and big bike is coming in at £89. Bennetts don't do it anymore. Most of the others are a bit unclear.

Last time I used travel insurance for European bike trips (obvs my standard bike insurance covered some aspects for so many days a year iirc) I went with the AA. It's hard to see whether they'll actually do it now apart from up to 125cc ie if you hire something on holiday).

However...when I actually tried to contact them on one trip (nothing serious, just wanted a bit of information) it proved impossible. Who knows why but you couldn't contact them on the number given from a mobile phone.

OTOH. Someone on a Flash tour trashed the final drive on his BMW bike (in warranty) and they were brilliant with recovery and getting him and bike home. It's worth looking at what the warranty means if you have a newish bike.
