In the wardrobe are a few more newsboys, four or five trapper hats, a couple of trilbys and loads of assorted beanies and stuff.

One of the things I miss about living in a bustling city is that I can't wear my bowler, well I could but it would get too much attention.
Step into the street in London in my bowler and Burberry short Kensington and you'll hardly get a second glance, dress like that in a village in rural Lancashire and you'll get all kinds of unwanted attention - which is ironic really because it was designed as a gamekeepers hat and it would have been very common here once.

The whole top shelf of a three long wardrobe is just my hats.
I fancy an Indiana Jones type hat next - https://www.hatsandcaps.co.uk/products/ ... ight-brown
(Village Hats are good to buy from btw)
Lairds do some nice stuff.

I have a Fedora, that gets used regularly, and a Hunter that I bought for shooting and have thus far never worn. :(
Now you're a rural gent RB, should you feel the 'need for tweed' or an urge to 'horde some cord' - Cordings of Piccadilly are still in business, or to release your inner ghillie, the House of Bruar can tweak your breeks. :D

(I strongly recommend that men hide both websites from their partners :( )
I grew up wearing that shit, (private schools), i still get hives when i see a tweed "sport jacket"

Sport jackets - plenty of pockets :D It does seem that now the traditional stuff is worn more as 'costume' than for practicality. Some of the modern clobber like Seeland and Schöffel performs much better if you want to stay dry and warm. Some of the old stuff (like 'proper' Tattersall shirts) is still nice to wear though.

Yesterday I bought what could have potentially been VERY pleasing:
A ticket for tonight's $940Million Mega lottery

Today I realized that I lost it someplace...nowhere to be found.

Bugger.

Which reminds me, is it safe to bring out my chequered shirts now? Or are chequered shirts and tattoos still the preserve of hipsters?
Hipsters? Meh. Can't let them appropriate stuff. Check is  although tartan may be a step too far.

Pretty sure the ironic dad-fashion-plaid-shirt look has been appropriated by all kinds of yoof culture over the years. Rappers n that.

Stick one on, with your flat cap on backwards, and you're ready for a country shoot or swinging with yo hos.

I appear to have gone native...

Not only did I buy a rather spiffy cattleman's looking jacket today:

but also a pukka waxed cotton Duster... which might come in handy this weekend if reports of Noah's second coming are to be believed.

The SonicScrubber Household Electrical Cleaning Brush arrives tomorrow. I can't believe it's taken this long for someone to invent a gigantic electric toothbrush that can be used for cleaning bikes.

I noticed this from the Amazon blurb:

So you don't even need to hold the device - it does it all by itself!

And I'd love to know how they came up with 57% - proof that 79% of statistics are made up on the spot...

I can tell you're impressed.

For the first time ever last weekend I used a (manual) toothbrush to clean a bike as I realised that it's the only way to get grit out of the many, previously unreachable, crevices that it has. I'm all up for trying out an oscillating version. I can't find any replacement brushes for it so it will be in the bin by the end of the summer.

It could be good - I'll be interested to hear your views on it, but manufacturer's claims are always worth a spot of piss-taking... Agree about toothbrushes - they are brilliant pieces of kit for all bike cleaning-related activities. I hoard used ones obsessively.

Interesting. Lakeland have the same brush but said this to a purchaser:

Thanks for your feedback. We won't be stocking replacement brush heads as these are readily available from other stockists.

But it also looks like they won't be stocking the brush kit for much longer as there's a 'while stocks last' type label on it. It does say 'do not use on vehicle paintwork or stainless steel surfaces'.

We have an older version but it just gets used for stuff like plugholes and nooks and crannies in the bath/shower rooms etc.

The more I think about it, that little scrubber could be just the ticket for cleaning my LC wheels. They've always been a PITA to clean properly.

They've been around for years, I think mine is about 10 years old. Mine is a different color, but identical.

Lidl do them in his and her colours with pictures of the kitchen or garage on the respective packaging.
I find the brushes are good but the electric bit doesn't make a lot of difference

Over here the yellow version is marketed for automotive detailing, which is the one I got at Wally World
