What bike was your first indicated ton on?

I think it was my mates RD350LC, if not that then a GPz 750 Turbo the same mate borrowed from a dealers for a test ride then let me have a go on it. Both were around the same time late 1984 .... i had a provisional license at the time and a GS125ES

Mate's dad dared me to have a go on his CB900F when I was 16. He regretted it as I tore off up the road flat out. It was pretty tame compared to my Maico to be fair.

Convinced my best mate’s big sister’s boyfriend to let me have a go on it. I was told he was a member of the local chapter of the Hell’s Angels but as this was West Lancs I’ve no idea exactly how true that was.

I passed my test on a KH100 and afterwards could only afford a TZR 125. About 9 months later I'd got a student loan out and bought my TZR 250 which felt bloody mental after the 125. Cracking bike which I rode like a right dick which is how you're supposed to ride at 19 Seem to recall cracking the ton on my first ride

As I saw 93 mph on my yas 125 two up wiv moi mate riding.........I can believe a 125 Japanese pre restriction could creep over the the ton....but hey...its only a number......

My mate has a 125LC, he has a Micron for it, with either of us chubby middle aged blokes on it the fastest it would indicate was 90mph, with his whippet like son on it, it would indicate 100, GPS said it was doing 90, still quick for a 37 year old 125.

With the standard pipe it's at least 10 mph slower (it's unrestricted) but much nicer to ride.

No surprise that he romped home as winner when they held the Pro-Am revival on 250LCs at Cadwell a few years back, when you looked at the pie-munching old guys he was racing against...

I lusted after anything that said 500, or above, or anything bigger than a 125 that said RD, RG, or KR.

However, in 1988 I was a poor, poor 17 year old student (play that small violin for me, orchestra), the shelf stacking job only paid so much, and the parents wouldn't fund it. So, GPz 305 it was - we all have our cross to bare.

Only reason i could afford my 550 was someone died and left my mum a few quid. She gave my brother, sister and my £1k so i just passed my test and started to bike hunt. This thing had a crap Canary yellow paint job and sat in Ernie Pages bike shop for long enough. It got reduced by about £50 every month. Anyway im sure i handed over £700 for it. Loved the overweight pig.
