Re: Project Aprilia
If you have a single policy covering all the bikes then that's the case but you can't use a single NCB on multiple policies. When I've set up policies recently they explicitly ask if I'm using the NCB on any other policy.

Re: Project Aprilia
Is the correct answer. Each separate policy requires its own.

Re: Project Aprilia
Sorted out the insurance and tax as I really wanted to take it out. Was a bit grim today with some slippery roads but mostly it was ok.
Came up nice with some muc-off and a jet wash though.
Bad points...
- Odd little occasional knock from the front end. Suspension has just been serviced and bike has been mot so could be pad/disc movement so will check that out and strip the front end to fix whatever is needed.
- Big hesitation with wide open throttle application. Light throttle is fine but big applications cause it to bog down for half a second, launch forward and hesitate again. Bit sketchy with the roads as they are but was completely rideable and will start looking at this issue when I get time. Will start with plugs and move through the electrics and fuel. Fuel that was in it hasn't been in there for an excessive amount of time and I mixed it with new super before riding it. Could be a partially blocked injector though I guess. Will find the issue.
- Clutch is so so so heavy. Will work out with my left hand.
- Horn is where the indicator switch should be which is irritating.
- The mirrors are shit
Good points...
- Sounds awesome
- Suspension is ace given how crap the roads are, very confidence inspiring. Hit a big lump of shite on the road that was at least 6 inches tall. Was following a car and couldn't avoid it at the time. Must have deformed the muddy lump quite a bit but the suspension just soaked it up amazingly. Rear suspension is hard but fine.
- Steering initially feels heavy but after ten minutes feels brilliantly stable.
- It's not that uncomfortable... it's not sit up bike comfy but it's ok.
- It looks the bollocks and felt really special to ride.
- The engine (misfire aside) feels just lovely
- Gearbox is excellent
- The throttle response is superb, just refreshingly perfect after the KTM
So there you go, work to do but I love it. KTM will be up for sale in due course.

Re: Project Aprilia
Ordered an oberon clutch slave as this one was leaking and was 'fixed' before I collected it. Definitely possible that it was fixed with some goop so will have a really good clean out of the actuating rod and tunnel, fit a new slave cylinder and that should make the clutch better. Also ordered new sparks plugs and air filter as a starting point for sorting out the hesitation issue. Will also balance the throttle bodies.

Re: Project Aprilia
Oberon slave is a good move. It does make the clutch somewhat easier to operate, but it's still quite a heavy action. OE slaves had a reputation for being leaky. Sounds like you're steadily working through the weak points and issues.dern wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 7:05 pm Ordered an oberon clutch slave as this one was leaking and was 'fixed' before I collected it. Re: Project Aprilia
When i rode the 1199 I got that.... It was still the most remarkably scary thing i've riddenPotter wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 10:00 am The factory RSV I had is still (in my mind) the fastest bike I've ever ridden, I've since ridden more powerful bikes but the raw visceral feeling of speed on that thing was hair raising. When I first got it I took it out on a long straight road that is quite narrow and gave it full throttle, the road seemed to narrow and converged into a point that looked like it was a foot off the front wheel, I had to slow down and get a grip of my senses, I'd never experienced that before.
