Have you been able to verify the milage?

Some of them had an issue where the ODO reset when the battery was disconnected. Not just the trip counter, but the actual odometer.

The odo reads 10k but according to the mot history it reset at 2k so 12k in all based on that info.

I seem to recall that early Gen 2 RSVs had a swingarm recall and there were some instances of the suspension triangles fracturing if bearings weren't greased at stipulated intervals. This is not Gospel and just what I've heard on the 'Priller grapevine. I'd suggest giving Griff a call at AP Workshops in Tamworth for full chapter and verse.

Happened to someone I know on a Tuono, in the arse end of nowhere.
Since this is a project bike, definitely a good place to start your preventative maintenance :)

Add non-working rear brakes, crap clutch slave cylinders, out of balance throttle bodies, sprag clutches etc etc.

Still great bikes though - probably the only bike I've ever owned that I still regret selling.

For repairs and advice, Griff Wooley or I used to use Don at Southern Cross in Kilburn - both know their potatoes.....

That's one of my favourite looking sportsbikes ever, good work. Remember seeing one when they first came out in Colin Collins in Harrow and it looked bloody amazing.

I've been put off by the riding position (I is well oldz init) and the resetting clocks issues as never feel I can trust what's listed. However if you can get past that it's a great way to get a 999/SP1 rival for a fraction of the price mainly.

I've no where to put it, I really need to get rid of one of the other bikes or have a major clean out, the weather looks shit for the foreseeable and I've got no no claims to put against it.

Can't bloody wait :)

I did think about the riding position vs a naked bike as I is also getting somewhat older, starting to get arthritis in my hands and generally less flexible but I've always wanted one and I'm not going to get any younger so fuck it.

It's apparently just had the stator circuit overhauled but I know these fail regularly but I'll see how that works out with the limited number of miles I do. If it turns in to a forever bike I'll replace the whole generator system from the later bike which solves the issue. It's just over 1k worth of bits but this is still way way cheaper than buying a new bike.

The bike will be on a smart charger all the time so I can look after the battery and sprag. The full sprag kit is a couple of hundred so won't break the bank.

I can balance the throttle bodies no problems.

I had an oberon on one of the ktms and will fit one if there are any issues.

The rear brake master can be angled to help with the problem or mounted vertically on a set of rear sets which feels like the way to go.

I'm not sure if the RSV layout is the same as the Falco, but this is how I bled my rear Falco caliper. It needs a length of metal tube of the right i.d. and a long bolt, but does the job.

Slightly worrying is, they sold it a couple of weeks back for a grand more, then relisted it as a quick, trade sale? Might be worth asking why the sale fell through?

I spoke to the seller and the previous buyer messed about and the seller wants to get out of the business, this is his last bike and he wanted a quick sale where someone turns up with a van and takes it as is. Googling the company reveals that they starting a lock company and the seller confirmed that.

I think thats the common solution for bleeding the rear brake on the Multistrada as well. They dont work well for long as the reservoir is next to the catalytic converter so the heat from it boils the fluid. The common fix is constant bleeding and flushing the fluid or the proper fix is to use high temp brake fluid at about 75 quid a small bottle .....most people remove it, turn the caliper upside down and place it high to bleed it ;)

Started to tidy up the garage to get the aprilia in. In the current state I can’t get all the bikes that were in there in. I’m sure it’ll be ok in the end.
