Not sure I agree. That party will still have the majority in the commons, probably. We don't vote for an PM, we vote for MPs, so in theory, whoever is 'leading' (I use inverted commas for a number of reasons) the party with the majority is fairly irrelevant.
Why have a PM at all then? Why not just have all the MPs and no overall leader?
Thinking about it, they've had a deputy PM and a lot of the responsibilities are farmed out in the shape of briefs that are held. Other than earning a bit more bunse and getting the London pad, they don't really do much more the other clowns.
