Not sure I agree. That party will still have the majority in the commons, probably. We don't vote for an PM, we vote for MPs, so in theory, whoever is 'leading' (I use inverted commas for a number of reasons) the party with the majority is fairly irrelevant.
I hear the argument....but...

Why have a PM at all then? Why not just have all the MPs and no overall leader?
how will they know who to stab in the back?
Or dangle from a zip line?

Thinking about it, they've had a deputy PM and a lot of the responsibilities are farmed out in the shape of briefs that are held. Other than earning a bit more bunse and getting the London pad, they don't really do much more the other clowns. :D

Getting stopped by the Douanes 200km from the ferry. The kept me waiting ages while they searched despite me showing them my vapes and grinder and showing them to be empty. I know they have a job to do and yes as someone who consumes a fair amount of weed I know I'm kinda asking for it. But I was going to be 15 minutes early at the ferry terminal meaning I'd have time to fill up with diesel before boarding. By the time they'd finished I was going to be late if I continued at the pace I had been (60mph). So I had to drive at 70mph, which killed my fuel economy and I still didn't have time to fill up before boarding :(

Trying to get my driving licence stuff from DVLA

To get a French licence and to get the taxi licence, I need the proof of categories I'm entitled to

So - online, fillin driving licence number, NI number and address on licence.

Computer says no

Do it again dropping the last two digits of driving licence number (cos the example doesn't seem to have them)

Computer says no - directs me to 'chat'.

Fill in the chat info and computer says no (well, the chat bot just spun for ages and no one was there to chat  )

So, essentially says no

The postcode on my licence is wrong (U instead of Y) so I tried again with the correct address

Computer sodding well says NO - AGAIN!!!

Totally not in the mood to phone DVLA today, so will have to try that on Monday

You using this?

https://www.viewdrivingrecord.service.g ... nce-number

You are right in dropping the last two digits but i never put a gap in the post code and it was fine. The example has a gap

A parishioner in a previous parish managed to lose their bitlocker code and lock out their new PC.

So I offered to rebuild it with Win11 and so on. Forgot about the joys of NVME and drivers. What a horrible time it is to get these things sorted, but I persevered. I really must burn that IT hat and just deny any knowledge of how things work!

Down the shops, escalator was switched off, had to use the stairs.

That's not the boiler

It was off because an elderly lady had fallen on it, head and arm injuries, they were waiting for an ambulance.

Three quarters of an hour later, still waiting. A manager handed her a phone, someone from ambo control.

Likely 4 hour wait. Could her husband drive her to A&E? No, they came into town on the bus.

Could they get a bus to A&E? No, she didn't feel able to.

Could they get a taxi?

Is that to the local [minor injuries] hospital?

No, as you have a head injury, in needs to be A&E.

It's 23 miles away ...

Lol. Anytime someone asks for PC help tell them you worked on mainframes and don't have a clue about Windows.

We have audible levels of wincing in our house for that. I'm sure people do it on purpose to make me lose braincells.

I used to deal with two groups in NI. One had the postal address of 'Derry', the other 'Londonderry'.

The first six letters in the latter are silent.*

It was in the early 1990s - tended not to be a joking matter, especially if you didn't know people too well :)

Most soldiers only used 'Derry' and like me, probably still do.

Ahead of our time, clearly. :P

FFS

DVLA chatbot in constant 'connecting' mode - so obviously not connecting

Website still telling me I'm entering the incorrect info to get my driving licence info

So I succumb and call DVLA - 11.5 mins later I've been on hold for ages and then finally get through to someone helpful. She gives me a code.

Woohoo I think. Go back online. Enter part of licence number and the code and get this -

Silly-bollocks like NIcky Telford, from this BBC article.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-63241742

"I'm freezing right now, I'm shivering while I'm on dialysis, but I won't put the heating on because it's too expensive," says Nicky Telford.

And he says this, whilst wearing just a fucking vest. It's no wonder the thick twat is unemployed if he can't figure out to put a couple of extra layers on to keep warm.

He's wearing a vest in that photo because he is actually having dialysis, you can see the catheters in his arms are full of blood.
