To be fair to Yozza, he doesn't want to know the exact location, just how warm it is and how cheap the beer is

IIRC, Iccy is more likely to find non-cheap warm beer in those parts.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 9:53 am To be fair to Yozza, he doesn't want to know the exact location, just how warm it is and how cheap the beer is

Which reminds me, I got some quinces (at Welbeck farm shop, grown on the estate). Simmer 30 mins, quarter and fry. Served with a lamb tagine. Nom. Nom.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 9:21 am Were going apple picking tomorrow, 3 generation family visit to one of the community orchards.

Re: Friday thread... the darkness is upon us..
I've been looking at electric splitters, I'll need to spend around 500 euro to get a decent enough one, hence I thought I'd give the axe a go first. Olive is like trying to split rocks, but it'll be good exercise. I've got a couple of new splitting wedges on order as well just in case.David wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 8:33 amElectric splitter...though they suddenly got v. expensive. Gave my step son in law mine as we has no fire (great gnashing of teeth and wailing of hands)...he has just split and sold 10 tons of wood and is impressed with it.Pirahna wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 8:14 amI've got 2 tonne of olive logs sat on the drive and another tonne stacked out the back, all of it needs processing. The splitting axe the previous people left behind just bounces off so I've ordered a Fiskars X27. I'll end up buying an electric splitter but thought I'd give the axe a go first.

Congrats to you two too.
My Mrs has always had a wish to go to Marseilles for a stay (have flown in and out but only to be collected and whisked off to hilly bits north of there). It has, as they say, 'a bit of grit in the oyster' compared with lots of places on that coast. Much more interesting.
Have a good trip, pics and report awaited with interest.

I've just been reamed for 4 tyres for Mrs.Skubs car, that's probably the high point of today!
Over the weekend I need to lift the hall floor in readiness for the new one.
There hasn't been much of an opportunity for biking since early September, but the weather has been driech anyway,so I've kind of switched off for the Winter.

Re: Friday thread... the darkness is upon us..
Already been out to get my hair cut, bought some new smalls, trainers and shirts for work, got myself a Tuna roll and had a quick meeting at a school, just warming up the studio now waiting for a mate to arrive.
Tonight - all day/night studio session with DJ Fuzzy Fuzz! - We used to produce some Disco House and after about a 5 years break we are trying again. I am loads more savvy with beat making and him with the sampling (we sample off old 60's and 70's records) so hopefully we will produce something special this time around. We call ourselves 'The Green Pirates'!... Will no doubt get some Caribbean food in.
Sat - Nothing. Gummies and films. My weekly rest day.
Sun - Housework, over to see the parents then back in the studio in the eve...

Re: Friday thread... the darkness is upon us..
I've had my brain well and truely melted at school; had to do some admin when I got home. 50% win - the english admin seems to require a call to the DVLA which has peeved me a bit!
Heading to Spar in a mo to get some lemons and some eggs (forgot to go to a shop in the valley due to melted brain!) then chilling on the sofa and hoping my brain comes back to life!! LOL
Tomorrow - heading to see the cat sit friends. Meet the cat again and the neighbours!! LOL Then off to the doctor that signs medical forms for one I forgot
Sunday - Help my shop friend at a event, maybe! Hopefully getting some veg from the allotment guy. Homework!!
Forecast sucks, so nothing rock n roll this weekend

Today; travelling back from Nottingham ( again) following an event.
Been away for two nights so will be glad to get home. Less than two weeks now until move, so I suspect the weekend will be packing.
Tonight: bath and TV with the mrs.
Tomorrow: horse riding, tap and something I forget. Dog walks and like I say, packing.

Re: Friday thread... the darkness is upon us..
Today, flying around like an idiot after a busy few days at work, working always from home really gets in the way of getting work done… Pizza for dinner then picking up the wife from a work’s night out.
Tomorrow, pottering around the house, need to have a ring around for a plasterer after previous attempts have failed. Usual domestic chores need sorting as well
Sunday, more of the above.
In other news, part of today’s running around was a trip to the barbers.

Re: Friday thread... the darkness is upon us..
We going to pop around to see our friends this evening. His mum died early hours of Thursday morning, having been taken into hospital a few days before. She was 93, and had lived independently up 'til she was taken in, so that's bloody impressive. My mate always said she had a soft spot for me, as many years ago at a wedding I escorted her, in true gentlemanly fashion, arm in arm, to her waiting taxi, opened the door and closed it behind her. Little did she know I was pissed as a fart and was actually leaning on her for support as much as she was me.
I know it sounds odd, but we'll take a bottle of their favourite sparkling wine around, so that we can toast her long, happy life.
Saturday it's up early door as I'm dropping Mrs. G, Gremlinette and her mate down to the local station as they're catching a train oop north for the Manchester Uni open day. I have nothing planned except a bootcamp class in the morning and a haircut, both of which are desperately needed. Might actually wash the bike.
Sunday - as little as possible.
