That's only a 1.3! - with some extra lights, stickers and dirt. Embarrassed to say, we had a 1.8TC coupe like that, harvest gold. MGB engine but no overdrive, went quite well but only in straight lines. Torsion bar front suspension meant if you pushed it in a bend it just leant outwards and understeered into the hedge. Always.
Sold it (DFS78L) with difficulty and bought the BGT which we had for 30 years.

Marinas are shit, probably one of the shittest cars I've driven, the 1.3 is especially shit.Wossname wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 2:40 pmThat's only a 1.3! - with some extra lights, stickers and dirt. Re: utterly random picture thread.
The 1.8 was also shit. The extra power (not that much extra) was waaay more than the back end could handle, wet roundabouts were 'interesting', and sharp acceleration in the dry provoked axle tramp.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 3:04 pm Marinas are shit, probably one of the shittest cars I've driven, the 1.3 is especially shit.

Re: utterly random picture thread.
My only memory of a Marina 1.8 TC was that it was the first car that I did an (indicated) ton in. It was a hire car and it was red, but that's all I can remember apart from I didn't like it much.

Found this in a mate's garden (SW France). Heard it strolling through the dead leaves.

Re: utterly random picture thread.
Nope! It was in NE Spain, on the coast about level with Girona. This was the second photo I took after encouraging it off the road with a pine needle, hence the side-eye I assume.
