Buy a rebuild kit and do it yourself.

I've spoken to these today...apparently can't get the seals for original Brembo but can do the race spec ones... :?

Its a single disc brembo system...I'll have to check serial numbers later for more precise details

How many pistons, basically is the trail or supermoto?

If it's the trail you want an 11mm master cylinder, I might have a Brembo one from a Husky in the garage, if it's the supermoto you want a 1/2 inch or 13mm, DRZ400 master cylinders are 1/2 inch, but so are loads of other bikes, and you can get new pattern master cylinders off eBAy for not much, just don't buy the stupidly cheap ones.

Because they're usually cheap Chinese copies made of monkey metal.

I assume from that, that all the refurbish kits on-line aren't original Brembo then. :( (Otherwise you could send them the MC with the kit). Don't think I'd want to use iffy bits in the front brake system. What's the issue with race spec?

Rebuild kits are available and simple to fit, however you say it's seized.

To me that means there's corrosion in the bore and it will need honing out rather than just seals, so might not be a DIY job to do properly.

Well I bought this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313949787916 which is of course Chinese but actually seems to be quite well made and decent metal. It certainly works very well. The truth is that much stuff you buy however branded will be made in the Far East anyway. I'm old enough to remember when "made in Japan" was the sign of cheap rubbish.........

It's the trail...the 404 dual sport model not the supermoto...cheers

Have a look on the master cylinder and somewhere (probably underneath) it will say what size it is, I think it will be an 11 or 12, but could be a 1/2 or 13, once you've found the size, just buy another master cylinder the same size.
