I won’t be using that mount again. I’m using my ram mount which is secured to the top yoke and you can clearly see the vibration and buzz that you get at 8k rpm. The S1000rr’s are renowned for it which you feel badly through the bars which you can solve from a riders point of view by fitting heavier bar ends, sadly it doesn’t solve the issue with mounting the camera via the top yoke.

That’s the traction control light flashing. You’ll see to the left side of the display there is the DTC torque reduction graph, that’s the intervention and how much it cuts power in %, sometimes that lights up but not enough to cause the traction lift to flash.
Can you feel any traction loss, from the vid it's not obvious on the rev counter and it all looks stable enough. It's a subject I have no experience of mind.

You don’t feel it at all, you wouldn’t even know that it’s working, it was the same on my 1299s, the previous Beemers though you knew when it was working, such a big improvement on the Gen 4. It can be too intrusive though but you can fine tune it and back it off, that’s where the Torque reduction graph comes into play, I think that was set to DTC 2 +7 which for track would be pointless in the dry, I usually run it at DTC 2 +-0 on the road and it only intervenes sometimes depending on how I’m feeling and how hard I’m pushing. Even though you know it’s there to help you it still takes a lot of convincing to open that throttle in an aggressive manner whilst leant over.
I think where it would be unbelievably awesome would be in the wet, I used Rain once when coming home from work when it had pissed down and albeit I wasn’t pushing hard the Traction control had worked overtime and I didn’t even know until I checked the dash after.
I booked the track evening on Monday there which is a 2hr open session. Turned out to be the hottest day of the year at that point which wasn’t ideal but better than nothing.
My main concern like last year when I did the two track days on the GSXR was my fitness, I’m seriously unfit and overweight so I knew it would be a struggle, plan was to just enjoy it.
Rode the bike up for the 6pm start and didn’t bother adjusting the preload, I left it on the road settings but did take the 13mm socket and ratchet if I decided to change it but I never did, I made my mind up that it would be a case of just riding the bike as is as it’s only two hours and with it being open session you don’t really get lots of opportunities to stretch the legs as it’s a real mixed bag of abilities.I set the tyres to 32f 30r which is what I run on the road and left it at that, I did have my pressure gauge if I wanted to adjust but again I ended up leaving as is.
First outing it was steady away, I initially had the traction control set to 2 +7 and it was intrusive as hell, it was really killing the power coming out of the hairpin, so I gradually backed it off and ended up at level 2 fine adjustment 0 in race pro 3, I then switched to Race for a bit which has a setting of traction control 1 and even in the end up that was too intrusive, but I just left it as is.
The track was busy at times so it wasn’t easy to get into a proper rhythm but I actually felt like I managed ok, it was so hot and I was blowing out my arse but I enjoyed it, at least the brakes lasted this time and I probably did as many laps as I did last year over two track days and one of this included all day sessions (that was a shocking day).
The goal now is to try and lose some weight, get fitter and keep at it, at least one more track day this year and next year hopefully many more starting earlier in the season as well. I’ve now had the beemer on track so it gives me a base starting point and plenty to work on, hopefully progression in the right direction.

It is but in Race the wheelie control is set to 2 which you can’t change, when in race pro 3 which I started off on it was set to 2 also, I had it set to less and off in the other race pro settings but I never bothered changing to it, I will next time for big wheelies over the start finish
I was trying this mount on the bike yesterday on the way to work and back, I quite like it, I had a similar set up on the GSXR. Arrived at work this morning, GONE it wasn’t there!
I remember seeing it when I looked down in Dollar so I knew it was between Dollar and work so headed back and only found the mount and the rear door of the case. I think it’s went into the hedgerow. Had a quick look but couldn’t see it, £300 down the drain ffs.

I went back later on that day for a much better look. No chance, I think it’s left the road where the backdoor was and went through the hedge in that area, there is steep drops behind down into the fields and it’s really thick.
I’ve purchased a session 5 from eBay so I’ll see how that goes. This was a GoPro 7 Black which I’ve had for a good few years now, I can’t remember when they came out.
That’s the first couple of uses with the GoPro Session 5 and I’m not impressed, it has stabilisation like the GoPro 7 Black but it doesn’t seem to work as well. I’m not sure if it’s the mount, it’s mounted the same way as the 7 so I’ll have a little play see if I can improve it as it’s too shaky for my liking, sounds a bit poorer as well.
It’s much cheaper though so really I shouldn’t complain, but I’m going to
I was up at Knockhill again yesterday for the full day sessions, I’ll do a more in-depth review shortly with pics and footage but because of my own stupidity I missed the second half of the day, fucking idiot!
