Oldie but damn does it show the brutality of war, along with the bravery of people
Maybe I should revisit it?

Season 3 of The Orville. Written and starred by the creator of Family Guy. It's like an offbeat, sometimes funny, Star Trek but harking back to the original series feel. Season 1 was a bit finding its feet, season 2 was good and went very dark for two episodes, season 3 was delayed by COVID but so far has been a joy to watch and TBH rubs Disney's "Obi Wan Kenobi's" face in the poo.

Currently watching 13 Lives, absolutely brilliant film and the divers involved in the real rescue are were amazing.
Oh and although its not got as far into the film as Elon Musk being a petulant knobend, he was an utter petulant knobend in the real life story.
Still he managed to build a massive business from nothing with only a bit of belp from his fathers apartied emerald mines so well done Elon.

Re: Box Sets, Mini series, films, etc.
Last 2 weeks I've watched all 5 Footsoldier films.
Wow. What an eye opener.
Based on real events and it's scary how it was.
The violence is scary and believable. I had to look away sometimes.
But in between the violence they're all light hearted.
They're "almost likable" rogues.
With some proper LOL moments.
After all 5, I wished there were more.

Just finished Season 2 of The Capture. Enjoyed it although some of the plot was held together with blutac and Sellotape. There were more twists and angles in the last episode than a twisty angular thing. Deep fakes of deep fakes

Love an Irish film normally, but we just watched The O'Briens. Well, at least the wife stuck with it, whilst I bailed. It was such a shit production I was embarrassed for them. Must have been made with Samsung phones ffs!

If you like Irish films, try the new Lord of the Rings series!Taipan wrote: Thu Sep 29, 2022 11:55 pm Love an Irish film normally, but we just watched The O'Briens. Seriously, what were they thinking making the Harfoots/hobbits all 'oirish'? It's all a bit of a 'Jar Jar Binks' idea.
(Not v impressed with the rest of it either).

Bullet Train - we weren't expecting much but it was good fun.
An odd mix of Kill Bill, Snatch, the Umbrella Academy & even Agatha Christie.

Been watching Andor on Disney+.
I like the story and love the 80s Sci fi music, but the best bit is playing "spot the British filming location".
So far I've got Canary Wharf, the Scottish Highlands, the McLaren Technical Centre and the Barbican Centre

Re: Box Sets, Mini series, films, etc.
Wet Sunday afternoon, got bored, went to the flicks,
The Banshees of Inisherin.
There's some dark humour, but it's either a bit too long or a bit too high brow for me.
