Suspension Upgrade.

Post by Yorick »

The Husky is great, but I never managed to set up the suspension properly. Over here there's loads of different surfaces and terrains.
I've had it 3 years now and it's getting real bumpy and needs a refresh.
Just found there's a guy new to the island who's a suspension guru :)

He came Friday and set the sag which improved the rear loads.
Then he talked about full upgrade front and rear.
Just sent me the price.
Springs for my weight both ends. Posh oil.
Forks and shock fully rebuilt.
New bushes etc and more.
All Ktech stuff.

540€ the whole lot :) and he'll do it all in my garage.
I might learn summat :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Can't wait.

Not really. Spring on the back isn't enough of a swap to help, it's a bit better, but not night and day. A shock is better.

Forks are fine and will be happy at the pointy end of an Inters trackday.

You’re not kidding! I don’t dare think about the UK cost of a full (front and rear) suspension upgrade :o

That sounds too cheap to me but I'm the other side of the globe. Mine cost about 1/2 that and I already had the front springs and cartridge emulators.
All the rest I got as cheap as I could as long as it had the specs I wanted and I did all the work and setup myself.
Here that would just get the rear shock and spring. https://www.ktechsuspensionusa.com/p-20 ... shock.aspx

He's not getting a shock is he?

Shock service is £120-150. Set of front springs £60-90. Oils and bits £40-50

The rest is labour. So it's decent but not a give away.

That was easier than expected. Youtube videos helped :)

But gonna get the dude to rebuild it. Don't trust myself and he'll be doing the sag and setup anyway.

You're allowed to get soapy bubbles on it at times you know.

You took over an hour longer to respond with that than I thought you would. Admirable restraint sir!
