I'm letting him fix it up real nice before I come to collect it. Ideally I'd like the frame powder coating too. And a supercharger.

Had a long ride today, no explanation but I think this bike is superb. Stopped by at the farm where our storage is and had a play on their roads then a play with photoshop....

Does yours try to pull to the left when you photoshop it? Mine always did as soon as I selected the lasso tool.

Had to sort the leaky fork seal today, with forks in the bike it's one bolt on top of fork leg. Once undone the stanchion slides down out the top yoke pushes to one side and slides straight out the top. One clip later and the fork seal is out. A 15 min job tops
One other issue with the raised suspension is the side stand is too short, 15mins later with the lathe a lump of nylon and we have a solution......and the bike now has a name, Clubfoot

And although admittedly my effort arguably isn't as well engineered or durable as yours (mainly as it's made of wood ) , it's equally functional- great minds eh!

First proper dry ride, on the clear bits of road I found i got to ride as hard as I like to on the road and the GS really handles superbly. It’s quick enough with the new map and pipe.
The only downsides it’s not as shiny and new as I like and the exhaust needs it’s baffle

Fitted the 17's today, front end was nearly 2" lower so gained 1" adjusting the ride height on the shock. Rear was also 1" closer so looks like geometry is similar. Bike sitting a little lower so side stand needs modding again. Also the front mudguard needs changing but I'll ride it first. Weighed the wheels too and ready to use the front is 2kg lighter and the rear 1.5kg so a 3.5kg weight saving.....irrelevant really but since buying it I've unbolted over 12kg of 'extras' and changed the exhaust and cat so it's over 21kg lighter and around 12kg lighter than standard

Hopefully it should still ride ok, be interesting to know what the difference is. What size is the OE rear?
Did you get a 5" or 5.5" width rear? IIRC the R1150R has a 5" rear (where the Rockster/K1200RS/R1100S have the 5.5") and takes 170 section tyres, rather than 180. Not sure if that limits your tyre choice or not.

5" rear with a 170/60, standard was a 150/70. It's got the same geometry as before (I'd set it 1" higher at back) but I'm assuming it'll turn a bit slower with the wider tyres which is no issue as it turned very quick before.
