It’s such a fine line though, there are so many variables even lap on lap, the consistency you would have to have with inputs for it to react the same way every lap at the exact same point on the track, so I don’t think it’s as clear cut as “this is the line, so don’t go over it”………..
It’s like when Brooksy a few years ago when he won the BSB he says that in every corner he thought he was going to crash, he was pushing that hard that in his own words he wasn’t sure he’d make it out of the corner.
2022 champion, who, why?

Oh absolutely... i'm not even going to begin to try and imagine it. But being able to learn when to stop is obviously the difference between a champion and not. Look at O'Halloran last year for example, he should have romped it.... But a couple of crashes and he's suddenly not champion. Marquez has learned the lesson is expensive too as without his crashes he would likely still be the dominant force in GPs.wull wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 8:08 am It’s such a fine line though, there are so many variables even lap on lap, the consistency you would have to have with inputs for it to react the same way every lap at the exact same point on the track, so I don’t think it’s as clear cut as “this is the line, so don’t go over it”………..

Eight world titles suggests he knows when to not go past that limit and that the learning has been done. Was it the 19 season that he didn't have a result lower than second in races that he finished and only one DNF?
Every time he makes a change to the bike he's got to know where that limit is, hence why he's stepped off a few in practice.

What I meant was that he's not just pottering about scared. He's still pushing as hard as before.
