In the words of the Ducati factory when they give you the large practical hugger and mudguard extenders in bubble wrap but refuse to fit them as standard and put tiny ones on instead ....... "They serva da purpose but theya looka sheet"

Thats my opinion of the standard hanger and the tail tidy looks much better

The shorty does look particularly short and standard is long, but is intended to work as a mudguard aswel, for when you ride in the wet. 🙂

My opinion is inconclusive. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was going to say weeksy, it's your bike fit the one you want and never mind us. Then I noticed that your lass said fit the short one, so...

I thought she'd go the other way as she's always a "why are you messing with..... just leave it alone"..

But for her to go straight to how rubbish the long one is... means it must be REALLY rubbish.

Anyway.. it's all happy and ready for the next dryish day.

So, if I can swing it (and it’s a BIG if at the moment) I’m looking at either a MT09 or MT07 I think. I’m thinking I’d like a little run around fun bike. I remember my couple of 600 hornets and how much I enjoyed riding it.
My mates no longer have bikes and we used to do longer rides and tours, so that’s probably not happening any longer.

But my 600 hornet was about 90 odd bhp iirc so a bit concerned that the 07 will be a bit underpowered? And it doesn’t have the suspension adjustments or quickshifters etc.

I’m far more likely to get a cheap bike past the financial planner at home, I could test a 07, and that’s the obvious answer, but my local dealer doesn’t have a current 09 demo until next month, when the 22 colours are in. Hmmmm?

600 Hornet is a top end screamer, the MT-07 is one big punch of midrange fun. They really are chalk and cheese. I'd be very surprised if anyone found the MT to be lacking against the Hornet tbh...

I don't think any of them are much better or worse to look at in honesty.

I also got told off by Couchie for the back end ! LOL.
I wonder if the 07 has the same problem as the 09 with spray when short tails fitted. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Ask pietin, i doubt i'll ever find out :D
I doubt I'll ever care tbh. Bikes get filthy dirty in the rain anyway. If it was an issue with my getting soaked because of it, then i'd be more likely to buy better waterproofs!

Thank you. I'm inclined to agree. I can't think of anything I'd want to change aesthetically. If it goes on track I'd like a slipper clutch, but I'm not going to throw £700 at it that's for sure.

It's a simple and fairly basic toy and I'm sure some would mock things like the power, handling, brakes, but it was never hoping to have wsb brakes, or mupo levels of handling, it's just exactly what it is.

Sticky jobbies it comes with, there's about a million of them in the pack and it's REALLY sticky. Not my favourite item in the world, but it honestly makes a huge difference to how much crap comes up to the engine.
