Didnt you switch back and forth with the 690 tail tidy? Maybe you'll face the same indecision with this one? Are there any less cut tail tidies out there?weeksy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 7:57 amWe're going to have to disagree... Mine will be standard by the end of the month. Them's the rules, the rear wheel can't be the most rearward bit of a bike
INCOMING, Happy 50th to me.... Yeah, it's a Yamaha... it's the easy option.

NAh, the 690s all ran short Evotech tidies.... Part of the reason was/is the ability to put it in the garage neater. With the layout of the garage the tidy just gives that bit more clearance between the MT07 and the ZX6. I did try a few on the XSR900.
But for me, looking at it, that just looks too squat and wrong with the tidy on there. I think standard tidy with a black plate and we'll be happy.

Interestingly, over on pb forum they were 10-0 in favour of the tail tidy.

I know I'll be in the minority here but I think it's going to go back to standard tail end.
I think the tidy just looks a bit too cut.

I don't mind the mudguard thing on my bike, if anything I would like it a bit wider to keep spray off the bike, I may have to go "full Dodgy Knees"

I just looked at the Evotech Performance instructions as i was wanting to check where a little plastic jobbie goes... I then saw how many things i'll need to remove and re-add to get it back to stock lol

Re: INCOMING, Happy 50th to me.... Yeah, it's a Yamaha... it's the easy option.
lol no.... but it will be going back to stock tomorrow after i collect the little bits needed for it.
I was watching Car SOS last night with the boy and they were doing up an RS1600i.. I was watching as they were pulling it apart and someone had basically done lots of 'things' that they thought were in some way better but in reality just Chavved up the car and made it unusable. That sort of echoed with me as a throwback to 1990 when we all did tail tidies, iridum visors and sparky sliders.... It's all just a bit, well, naff really.
The purists spend time taking cars, bikes etc back to standard these days because, well, it's 'right' and proper... and whilst that's usually in a restoration context, it just feels correct that i should go back to stock, even if it takes an hour or 2 to do so.... i'll get in the garage, music, beers and enjoy it.

I think the snow plough plate holders and huge exhaust cans are the ugliest, line spoiling things ever put on a bike! We'll have to agree to disagree on this one!
