The engine bars were painted with another coat of primer and the first coat of black hammerite smooth, I'll leave them for a few days for the paint to harden off a bit before I rub them down smooth and final to coat Matt black

One of the first things I did when I got the bike was to put plugs in the swingarm to stop all the road crap going inside, and I've copper slipped the bolts regularly so I don't anticipate any problems with them. When I got my XC the first thing I did was take them out and copper slip them. I understand the holes need to be there as part of the casting process, but for Triumph not to fit bungs as standard is silly.

When I bought my roadie in 2015, it only had 12-13k miles on it but the adjusters in the swing arm were seized, the dealer fucked them and had to fir a new SA before I got the bike. Its an 11 Plate with 54k miles on it now but looks a shit load better than yours Taff. The paint is coming off the Madstad screen mounting though

In Dec 2020 I was sent to WFH after being in the office every day for 4 months. When I started looking at it closer earlier in Dec, I could see that I hadn't cleaned it and the salt and crap had had a year to do is thing, hence the state it's in now.
Even before that I have never really cleaned it much, it's not really something I enjoy doing and I treat my bike like most people treat cars, it's a mode of transport to get me to work and back and very little more, mechanically it's pampered, cosmetically not at all.
To be fair to triumph, it's mostly scrubbing up better than I expected but it'll never be 'showroom condition', that boat has well and truly sailed

It's had it, every Sept and Jan give or take a month or so. I even bought a compressor after seeing how the professional applied it. I didn't pay for it to be done a second time.

It's not just Triumph. There are holes in Honda VFR swingarms too.
