Today, up early, collected my brother and then drove down to Folkestone to meet a forum member from the Briskoda group. He was able to get the alarm system I had installed recently to unlock all doors, not just drivers door. Also tweaked it so it would lock the doors if key out of ignition after a while, and once you get moving, doors lock. They then unlock when you stop. Spent the afternoon clearing the house, putting in two perfectly level shelves for more storage in the kitchen. Then dinner with a glass of rose in the garden with the family. Feeling really content and happy.

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

Chamoised the car today.
Gives you a strange warm glow inside.
Right, off for a warm pint, a bowlful of St Bruno and to thrash a couple of whippersnappers.

Came home today after spending 5 days at the girlfriends for my birthday. She’s still not got over the cowardly attack on the cars so nice to be around to support and do what I can.
Today, 50 mile drive home, to find that Daysoft have already replaced the contact lenses that I ordered wrong, they have not got the originals back yet so excellent service.
Spent last evening watching a family of foxes eating the scraps we left on the front lawn, beautiful creatures, family of 4 although one has a gamy back leg. Should we be feeding fox’s, any reason we shouldn’t??
Chilling today, change the bed, tidy up the house, ready for work on Wednesday. Day off tomorrow so planning to sort out buying a Ducati Scrambler!!
Mick.

Market this morning for my fruit and veg then into Marmaris to do a bit of running around. Went to the tax office to pay the fees for my residency renewal then into the centre to go the Migration Management office to see if I could get my residency renewal appointment changed from the provincial capital Muğla to this new office in Marmaris. My expectations were right and I'm off to Muğla tomorrow. I was told the new office was opening but when I completed my online application it hadn't opened so I wasn't able to book my interview in town. It's not a big deal, I'll go early and do some shopping - Muğla is a good bit cheaper than Marmaris.

At 14:55 I was in my dentist's waiting room for the 4th (and last) visit in 10 days. I had a small infection in a root canal that had been treated about 3 years ago. Tulinay, the dentist has replaced the root canal fillings, put in a couple of screws to support the crown that had also been fitted 3 years ago and stuck the crown back on (that all took 3 visits). Last Thursday she had removed a filling that was looking dodgy and put a temporary one in and today completed that filling replacing the amalgam with a white one. She then gave me a thorough cleaning of all the plaque and staining on the backs of my bottom front teeth. In all 4 visits I have not had or needed one injection, even when removing the old amalgam filling. I can't really rate dentists as I rarely go but I reckon that she's pretty good at what she does. There is a cost involved of course but as I'm a returning patient she gave me a deal. At today's rate of exchange, all the work cost me £146.00. :D

No mate, keep feeding them so they become complacent then they'll be easier to shoot.

It was just a try dive. My pal wanted me to keep him company. 40 mins dive, down to about 10m down in Puerta del Carmen.

I'm advanced open water, but gonna do the full course with him as not dived since 1986 on Great Barrier Reef.

Sweet. I did my PADI OW last year specifically to dive in the Maldives (which beats a purpose-flooded quarry in Kent, I don't mind telling you). Was going to do the Advanced out there but ran out of time and enthusiasm. :D

Always next year.

And remember, it's ok to do it in your wetsuit, never in somebody else's..... ;)

I'll find some good dive sites for when you're next out here :)

Had a nurse around to assess the m-i-l for the GP surgery. I was listening whilst working and chuckling to myself, as she always does this when any 'official' comes around:

Nurse: Can you make yourself a drink?
MIL: Yes, I can get myself a drink anytime. Make a cup of tea or juice.
Now this is complete bollox. She can barely pick up a plastic mug, let alone a kettle or open the fridge door.

Nurse: Can you walk ok?
MIL: I walk very well for my age.
Again, complete bollox, you only have to look at her feet to see she can't, but up she gets and effects the most pained walk before giving in.

Nurse: How's your eating?
MIL: I eat really well, i make myself toast in the morning and I eat everything that's put in front of me
Again, bollox. If we can get her to eat half a sandwich for lunch and half a side plate of dinner we've done well.

Luckily Mrs. Gremlin was in there and put him right on her condition, but I had to laugh, as when the nurse left as the MIL said, 'I could do with a cup of tea now'
FIL turned to her and jokingly said, 'Fuck off and make it yourself being as you still can. And while you're at it we'll all have one!!'

Despite her arthritis she still managed to stick two fingers up at him!
