Moving phone app from internal memory to somewhere else

Hi guys. I have an app on my phone in internal storage that I want to move to either another phone or to the memory card. It's an app I can no longer find on the store and really want to keep it. I've tried moving it via settings but no luck. Any ideas. Tia

Any chance its in use in the background. Force stop then try and move

If android just have a search for the APK file on the web, assuming it's not been removed from the store because it's dodgy

Not dodgy as far as I know, it works fine and antivirus hasn't picked anything up

iirc, if you do find the apk, you might need to put the handset in developer mode to install it, or there might be an option in settings to 'allow untrusted apps'. Developer mode is really simple to turn on if you need too, even for a secret option

Google search 'name of app' APK, if you find it you need to be sure it's from a safe site and hasn't been dicked with, or risk it.

At least some Androids have a nasty habit of NOT letting you move some apps onto an SD card. My Samsung has some that came with the phone, have never been used, won't uninstall and refuse to move to the SD card!
