And I'm wearing sliders and socks.
I probably smell of urine and boiled cabbage too.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I've had a good and bad day.
Went home for most of the day to meet some friends here from Scotland for a couple of days (they've had their interview for residency cards and so we also went to the post office to confirm that I can collect the cards when they arrive!). Had lunch, loads of chat and laughs. Bloody brilliant to see them. They are some of the 'good' people up in resort - sadly they are generally only there full time in the winter (might change now with the residency!!)
Driving back to the cat sitting house and get a call from a friend - that bastard fucking broken minibus has been towed by the police. More money to free that up and the real pisser is that it was only a few days away from going for scrap The person helping me sort out getting rid (difficult due to lack of registration docs and other stuff) is going to see if the firestation want a vehicle to take apart - saving me a bit of money on the scrap man coming to get it. Will still have to pay the police for towing it I expect
Then had a total hoot of a french lesson online. I had to miss last week due to problems getting a lift home from physio. But we definitely made up for it today - lots of learning and laughing. We were talking about relationships at one point and I told her that a friend said to me that I was 'looking for a unicorn'! After I explained that to her, she said the French equivalent was the hen that lays golden eggs Equally unattainable and stupid!! LOL
It's cool to have such fun in lessons!! LOL
On Tuesday after a similar discussion (but more lighthearted!) the other teacher said that this is a French phrase used often for dating - "il n'y a pas d'amour, il n'y a que des preuves d'amour", or "there is no love, there is only proof of love". All got a bit serious for a moment when he said I should go and look for a french boyfriend not and english one!! LOL I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean him!
And tomorrow, my Scottish friend has been kind enough to offer to come and get me from the house/cat sitting and take me back home (on the way back I have to help him order some winter tyres - well, if the guy he knows in the garage isn't there then I have to help with translation!! LOL)
Mostly a good day. Just need to get that bastard fucking broken minibus out of sight, mind and reach - that will reduce the stress a lot!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Well this morning I've chased an errant dog for 45mins whilst she has tried to inflict serious bodily injury to me!
She then walks up to a total stranger, sits and acts like butter wouldn't melt.
I chucked him the lead and she even put her head in it for him.........bitch

The handyman who painted my dining room yesterday left the wife a copy of The Light.
Turns out he's utterly mental, he's always come across alright before.

They took the exhaust off and still couldn't get whatever it was out so had a fabricator cut it and remove the quite large bit of Titanium - .asmethurst99 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 7:42 pm Spoke to FWR - the CBR is fixed ( and for a lot less than I was expecting) pick up Saturday .

Peeled and chopped a bucket of windfall apples. The wife is baking today. Need a nice apple cake for tomorrow's after Church festivities. Will do bulgar wheat, feta, celery and bits and pieces for the savoury contribution.

Realised we only have optimate type chargers within the family and no one knows where my jump leads are? So I bought a charger with a fast charge ability.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Got the 'Rona.
Last Saturday went out with Friends, on the Sunday one of them tested positive.
Had a PCR done on Sunday evening, negative result on Monday.
Thursday felt a tiny bit crappy, so did a lateral flow, negative.
Friday and Saturday, felt like I had a bad head cold.
Sunday, test positive on the lateral flow.
Guess that's me not going to work on Monday. I wonder how many others I've given it to?

GWS KFB.
Had flu jab yesterday, slept 12 hrs last night (normally I sleep for a max of 5-6hrs), feel naff this morning so no sea swim for me today.
I suspect the wood burner will be switched on soon.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Sat on my arse watching bikes the last two days, which I'm happy enough with, since the weather is crap. The roof is off the back of the house, just for added interest, buckets everywhere to catch the rain. This I'm less happy with.
It's only been a week since I had the bike out,but it feels much longer. No let up in the rain in the foreseeable future.

More shed tidying and rearranging. Much more usable space now, and even more later.
