The RD is a bit of a tarts handbag, there are so many bits on it I don't like, but mostly it's too shiny, IMO they should look like they're being used.

Re: interesting bikes found randomly..
I had two that looked in a similar condition in the 80s, they were worth about £300 each, now you'd get £3000 minimum for them - though I know a few people who wanted one in the 80s, bought one recently and were surprised by how crap they are compared with modern bikes.Yorick wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:32 pmHow much would you have paid for my old one ?Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:30 pm The RD is a bit of a tarts handbag, there are so many bits on it I don't like, but mostly it's too shiny, IMO they should look like they're being used.

That bike was only 6 months old and won races the next year. Went well but never cared how it looked.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:36 pmI had two that looked in a similar condition in the 80s, they were worth about £300 each, now you'd get £3000 minimum for them - though I know a few people who wanted one in the 80s, bought one recently and were surprised by how crap they are compared with modern bikes.Yorick wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:32 pmHow much would you have paid for my old one ?Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:30 pm The RD is a bit of a tarts handbag, there are so many bits on it I don't like, but mostly it's too shiny, IMO they should look like they're being used.

Fuck all those K100 café racers, with their diamond stitched brown seats and balloon tyres.
This is what you should do with a K100.

They were racing in the solo BEARS while I was passengering on a K100 BEARS outfit. Had a good look over them in the paddock and they're really smart IRL.
