I realised on the way home, slightly pissed of with Triumph, that I ride on the road like I'm on the track but I rode on the track like I was in the IAM - I need help
and a bike.
and a bike.

That will be your own fault for using them as a helmet hanger in the paddock …. DohTrinity765 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 3:31 pm Note to self - put your pillion pegs in before a track day as they look proper dorky in the photos

I'm assuming that once it adjusts it's ok - but I'm not a mechanic.weeksy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 3:20 pmI was sitting there with it ticking over and thinking, not sure that's right. But I had earplugs in so just sounded weird.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 3:08 pmIt's cos you let Weeksy ride it.Trinity765 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 3:06 pm Put it in the Right Now thread - the cam chain tensioner decided not to tension anymore..... again. Edit: The self adjusting cam chain tensioner decided it wasn't going to self adjust anymore.
I didn't hold back as Trinity said "yeah it's fine"

Re: RTTL : Pembrey trackday extravaganza 2021. August 20/21/22.
Another brilliant event and fun few days- I really do look forward to what has now become an annual fixture and I’ve never come away from one not having thoroughly enjoyed it , whatever the weather or has happened ;- it sounds cheesy and corny I know but it’s the people that make it- that’s, of course, the Weeksys , all my fellow forumites that attend and Alan, Phil and the gang that run such well organised safe and friendly events- big thanks to you all
So this year I’d booked to ride on the Friday and Saturday and trundled down Thursday evening in the van with Isabella (my OH) and my RC390 and brand new and freshly first-serviced 890R in the back.
And to summarise , an absoloutely top time was had by all. We had some rain, and the odd err, bump in the road but that’s what these events are all about, and they didn't detract from the enjoyment of it for me
Was really good to see what have now become firm and old (some in more than one sense of the word ) friends, and meet some new ones too
Personal highlights for me included, in no particular order;-
So thanks again everyone for making it what it was . As a result of my little lie-down on track, I haven’t slept very well for a few nights now and anytime I laugh or cough in physical pain that is making me want to cry but that is arguably my own fault and all part of the experience eh- roll on the next one!

Personal highlights for me included, in no particular order;-
- @Dodgy knees - For entertaining and informative chats on ship canals , northern football clubs and life in general, great
fun. And it was the first time I’ve ever seen someone order a “ half &half Madras/Vindaloo curry ,- still not sure how that works but it made me laugh and as others have said, he’s definitely upped his game on track, looking very comfortable and smooth
- Kev’s (@2xtwins ) improvement on track (the fecker even had the sauce to overtake me once and bugger off !) and just the way he’s going about things and living life to the full these days after the year he's had, it could have been so so different and is really good to see- I guess heart attacks can make you do that, thankfully I don’t know that from personal experience
- @singlesman - along with @Trinity765 , another new one to the forum and this event and as he said, we had some great fun both off and on track, chatting about the good old days, and he was, without doubt, the most stealthy, humble, and unassuming rider there IMO - defo the winner of Inters (not, of course, that track days are races or speed is in the least important to any of us )
- @Nobby - He’s nowhere near as much a hooligan as he once was but he is definitely still one and his dry sense of humour always makes me smile- I reckon you should try stand-up matey
- @IanB ’s Big-Bertha, AKA a BMW 1200RS- A beautiful bike to look at with a lovely and very strong engine. Ian very kindly let me take it out and a very enlightening and enjoyable experience it was too. I was expecting it to handle in a similar way to Kev’s old K1300RS as they both have are shafties and have that Telelever front end, but it was nothing like it, very planted and confidence-inspiring in the faster corners, but it reminded me of those Disneyworld rides (the Tower of Terror I think it’s called ) in how it either dives or rises at both ends when you accelerate or brake which makes it a lot harder work to go at any decent pace on in the slower corners where quick direction changes are needed- I imagine it’s something that would get easier with a bit more practice on it but how Mike Edwards gets one of those around Cadwell at the speed he does is now for me beyond surprising.
Beautiful looking and sounding bike though, and I have to say, leaving the S1000RR out of it (but leaving the S1000R in), it is definitely my favourite BMW road bike to date
- Both my orange bikes- performed well for what they both respectively are, I will admit that after the first session I did on the 890 I was pining for my old 765, but that soon went away as I got my eye in, it’s a cracking bike albeit (disappointingly, if not totally surprisingly) when it was loaded back into the van after the two days I noticed it seems to have developed the infamous 790/890 gearbox sprocket oil-seal leak, heyho… As for the 390-well, it had quite an eventful Pembrey and I’ll update it’s own thread with that over the next day or two but it did well- It handles and brakes so well, its just crying out for another 20 or 30 hp then it really would be a proper little weapon, so maybe I will start measuring up other engines ( and getting some proper wet weather tyres )
So thanks again everyone for making it what it was . As a result of my little lie-down on track, I haven’t slept very well for a few nights now and anytime I laugh or cough in physical pain that is making me want to cry but that is arguably my own fault and all part of the experience eh- roll on the next one!

Majority, if not all, were NGRRC club racers getting in some practise for upcoming race weekend mid SeptemberDodgy knees wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 10:08 pm Just to add, enjoyed watching the fast group . They were having some proper fun aswel, some very quick lads.
For those from back in the day of Visordown might remember Spitfire and Eccles who now live in the Cotswolds. Popped in to see them last year on the way home and again this year for a cuppa. Eccles has been off bikes for a bit but my visits has made him think about the trip next year as he has done trackdays before and helped him out at Snetterton a few years ago.
Always trying to recruit more

Only other Love Island watchers would notice that, so no, no one (except you )
Oh and if anyone has come away with an extra one of these, it's probably mine as mine went AWOL at Pembrey

Yup, me too- that final session with Phil and the other two or three boys at the front was good to watch, like a proper race!Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 10:08 pm Just to add, enjoyed watching the fast group . They were having some proper fun aswel, some very quick lads.

Last one last night. The final. Maybe of interest to a more pervy male audience. That presenter Laura Whitmore's alright though.
I've got a gauge like that, I'll check I haven't got 2.
