Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread

Trousers, but not just any type of trousers, I have technical trousers. From the company with a heritage dating back to last November, Eklentson, I give you fleece-lined, waterproof technical walking trousers: https://www.amazon.co.uk/EKLENTSON-Waterproof-Trousers-Walking-Pockets/dp/B081RHF5S1/ref=...

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little

Builders (or architects) who design and build houses in the UK (where it’s wet a lot if you haven’t noticed) without window sills that protrude beyond the brickwork, so all your rain runs down the walls, stains the brickwork and soaks the mortar. “It’s the local vernacular” they say. Stupid morons I...

Re: Obligatory snow thread

None here (Welsh borders), although at least it wasn’t forecast for us this weekend, so for once they got that right. A couple of weeks ago we were forecast a shedload and not a flake fell! :hmmm: They’ve such sophisticated forecasting programmes and yet I don’t think they could forecast their way o...

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread

Love the over 60's one: "boost all frequencies". So that's just turning the volume up then :D I've realised that I don't like a lot of bass. On the telly I've turned the bass off almost, so I can hear the voices in films. And lots of reviews of the Sony jobbies praise the high bass :( It’...

Spent the last 25 days painting most of the rooms inside the house. Have to remember second lockdown for doing something! At last I have some time to sit down and catch up on RTTL! :D

Haven’t had time to have a look for ages.....

Re: What have you done today thread?

Had bike serviced today in Newtown mid Wales. Took some bike shots. Tracer and xsr 700 look pretty tidy imo. Also liking the V strom for that style. Quite like 2020 colour 900 tracer, especially light grey. couple of gsxxsis, and a very nice breakfast was had. Pissed down on the way home. 😕 We drov...

Re: Much as I try not to be judgmental.....

We’ve shut the economy down because of people like this........ :o Sad to say I watched The Hit List on BBC1 last night and 5 of the 6 contestants seriously needed to go on a diet. I’m sick to death of people not taking responsibility for their health. Who do they think will benefit from their obesi...

Re: That's a Negative - Interest Rates

Banks have been put on notice that Base may go negative in Q4. For individual banking customers there won't be negative rates on savings, mortgages, etc. Wholesale customers will be impacted, although euro deposits have been negative for some years in markets. Big system changes for most banks, not...

Well after all I said! It would be nice to think Yates will keep it but it’s too early in the race to tell. Maybe he’ll give us the GB interest we need!

Re: Tour de France

It’s a shame Yates isn’t in line for GC but the team manager doesn’t seem to think he’s up to it this year. Mind you he often delivers something extraordinary, so I hope he gets a stage or two.

Re: Tour de France

Afternoon peeps! Long time, no see. Glad to see the TDF is taking place. Fingers crossed that it finishes. What an odd stage today? No breakaway, very rare, even the commentators were bored! I hope someone does something innovative soon though, coz it’s not exactly been exciting so far..... :...

Put my bloody back out again! :x Third time in the past week and this time it really hurts. Hasn't been this bad since I first caused the problem 20 years ago gardening. Only now I'm even older and so I groan at every move. Walking no problem. Out for 3 hours this morning and that is sup...

Re: Ants

I only use Raid. Had a problem with some indoors a few years ago. Milton Keynes seemed to be rife with them (something to do with all the block paved roads on sand that's an issue I reckon). Just had a problem with wasps gathering in the roof void. Used Raid for ants on them as I had some in (then b...

Re: What have you done today thread?

Well not today because I've been a bit tardy of late in posting but Sunday I had the first pick of this years runner beans. :D A good 600 grams that only lasted as far as dinner time and then got scoffed with gravy dinner. Mmmmmm... Got a good crop growing this year, so we'll be well fed over Summer...
