Re: Electrical question.

So Couchy's point still stands. What are these multiple or smaller fast acting breakers of which ye speak? There are MCBs that have different over-current trip thresholds as you have laboriously pointed out, but they are not 'faster acting' or 'multiple'. How indeed would you fit multiple MCBs on a...

Re: Electrical question.

You’re rambling and not making much sense mate 🤣 Part P hasn’t added any new regs it’s still BS7671, there’s no issue with a socket on a radial circuit at all. I’ve no idea what you mean by multiple or smaller fast acting breakers on the ring main. You’re using a little knowledge and overthinking i...

Re: Electrical question.

But if you put a nail in a plug and plug it into a ring main you have the same problem. You can also get cooker switches with a socket on them too on the same 32A breaker. It’s a non issue. Yes. Again that is what I said in my reply. It is not a problem using a cooker point (if that's what it is) f...

Re: Electrical question.

Probably a cooker socket. Only problem with fitting a 3pin socket is that it will have a dedicated 32A breaker so if you plug anything dodgy into it, it will take 32A before the breaker trips. Not a problem really unless you have a habit of fitting "nevablow" fuses into your devices (i.e....

Re: Yamaha confirm sporty three-cylinder MT-09 as first bike to use new Y-AMT semi-automatic system

I love quick shifters and blippers but I want to change gear when I want not when the bike decides, an auto won’t drop 3 gears braking heavy so the slipper clutch cuts in, an auto box won’t let you clutch up onto one wheel, an auto box won’t short shift, an auto box can’t read the road and hold a ge...

Re: Pension stuff, how's it all looking ? HAve you prepared ?

I’m always surprised people don’t know exactly what they spend, I balance my account every week and know every penny and have done since I started earning. Without a mortgage the essentials are under £1k a month including food. I’d be happy on £2k a month and tbh it’s about there but I’ll wait till ...

Re: Yamaha confirm sporty three-cylinder MT-09 as first bike to use new Y-AMT semi-automatic system

A big nope from me, having had Hondas DCT it’s amusing on a test ride but after that the novelty wears off. I like to ride my bike and changing gear is part of that. Yes it had a manual mode with both a gear lever and switches on the bars but it never felt right, the gear lever was a switch without ...

Standard pads are rubbish yeah, I used the upgraded brembo ones and as I recall they are the same as CB500 pad

Brembo make pads for them, with decent brake fluid they were good enough for track use 👍

It's a LWB, 2017, 2 litre diesel, automatic, titanium. Nine leather seats! The kids like it. Loads of room in the boot too. v1.jpg v2.jpg v3.jpg Nice, change the oil every 8k miles not the 30k miles they can run too ! Gives them half a chance of not chewing the wet belt up. Also have a Ford dealer ...

Loved mine, tyre wise I put a 110 front and 140 rear Dunlop roadsmarts on. I put longer Hagon rear shocks and linear 9.0 springs in the forks. Handled superbly then.

I've been reading a fair bit about these this morning... https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/jpYAAOSwRetlM5cD/s-l1600.webp The fun word comes up a lot and they look good value. I was looking at classic bikes a while back and the constant maintenance put me off. I can do it, I'm just not sure that I want...

Re: My new red two-up touring bike

I knew someone else had one of these just couldn’t remember who, picked this 2014 up at the weekend. Full termi and only 6k miles. Just had a big service too. My review is shorter, it wheelies loads and is way too loud. Luckily I’ve got standard exhaust to go on 😃 https://flic.kr/p/2pRrj64 Here's a...
