Re: Harvest time. 🥕

The lettuce in pots and in the beds is doing fine but needing a daily watering, herbs are all hanging in there, even the basil.

Garlic fell over last week and I think it's a total loss.

Fennel appears to have bolted and looks set to go to seed. The dry spell seems to have convinced it it's in ...

Trust a surgeon more than you trust a physio

(I admit I'm a couple of glasses of red in so didn't read all of that but I still think that point is worth consideration)

Re: VW Transporter Camper. Thoughts ?

My Mates got one and as he has a seat at the back he has to load the bike in through the side. Fine for a normal MTB, heavy e-bike on the other hand and he gets crap all over the interior.

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread

One thing that has been a game changer for me was one of those mesh seat covers. I wasn't convinced so bought a cheapy one off a chinese marketplace for a few quid. The airflow you get under your thighs is very cooling and if it rains it allows the water to drain away off the seat better. It is also ...

Re: Hip ops

Turns out that osteo wasn't my issue, I have a Labral tear which I will be waiting for treatment for on the NHS for some while. Already waited 12 months longer than predicted for pre-op consult and still have no date so doubt you flogging me a stair lift is on the cards.

Off ya pop sweetie

Re: How much do you spend on a motorcycle exhaust?

Speak to these guys https://grmoto.co.uk/. They do end cans for around £250. They do one for the other Kawasaki 451 twins so although the KLE isn't listed they might have a solution.

I have a full header and can set up on my Himmy and it's well built and standing up to off-road abuse. Saved a ton ...

Bought a set of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/188129808052 ... 5756821324

Way more comfy than foam and easier to hear directions on my helmet speakers.

Mbappe is looking to be star of the show like last time, but should have been booked for the dive on dodgy penalty appeal.
The first half was bilge, 2nd half had 4 class goals well worthy of the highlights watchers, that mbappe goal was from nowhere

Re: They tried to nick my bike last night!

Me worrying about shed security whilst we were away was getting me anxious when I had nice bikes. Now I have a couple of rough motorbikes and the mountain bikes are 7+ years old I'm not overly bothered. This is what insurance is for in my case, it's crap that because of a minority of miscreants I ...

They are a bit top heavy but I'm 5'7" and I can manage. They are a pain if you have to push them around a lot but once up to walking pace they are fine.

Re: Triumph Thunderbird

Get on the t300 FB groups lots of advice on there, but don't try and start it with a duff battery.

You can put the cams in from other triples to up the power, carbs might need bigger jets, but if it's the single front disc version you might not want to.

Coils can go dodgy as they're getting on ...

Put a new plug in the Himalayan, made quite a surprising difference to the fuelling, much cleaner at the bottom end. I think the old one might have been the 25k old original one

Re: What car would you have if you were in the market for one and had the money?

Right now it would be a whole bunch of compromises.

I want something I can do the winter commute of 6 miles to work in, so ideally petrol. Good load space, would be great if I could get my Himalayan in the back, even if I have to use one of those trolley wheels.

Auto would be preferable so wife ...

Easiest thing to do is plant some Lavender, it's hardy relatively low maintenance and will feed bees for more than 6 months of the year. We have some ground nesting bees under an old concrete pad which is surrounded by long grass and they are always all over it despite other plants being readily ...

Rewilding? Christ I spend most of my life trying to 'unwild' it. Having to get rid of the gardener was a life changing decision for me

Despite a 'no-mow summer' on the top section last year it was at least one day a weekend keeping on top of the rest of it. Plus at the end of summer it was ...

Re: Analogue bikes

Nearly stacked the Griso after riding the Duke for 18 months because of an unexpected slide due to no ABS. It never happened again but I was lucky I managed to let go of the lever just before the front tucked but just late enough I didn't hit the thing I hadn't paid enough attention too. That last ...
