Re: Pension stuff, how's it all looking ? HAve you prepared ?
So, and please correct me if i'm wrong here, they are once again opening up doors for people who already have a fair chunk of money to be able to make more money for doing fuck all? Right? Yes mate, if you get off your arse and make some money, the government (at least in this instance) are trying ...

Re: Pension stuff, how's it all looking ? HAve you prepared ?
In the budget they announced a new £5k ISA allowance, so that's £50k a year between a couple. Plus some NS&I fixed deposit schemes, it said they will be three year products for now, but they're taking a long term view of things, so if I can tie a million quid up in an NS&I 5% fixed deposit ...

Re: Depression
Another mate of mine passed about 8 years ago. Smart, clever bloke and had a fair bit of dosh tucked away by all accounts He would think nothing about going into the spare bedroom and doing 50 miles on his exercise bike 2 or 3 times a week. In the summer, a pushbike ride from Haworth to Scarborough...

Re: Vote!
If the tories get in again this year it's all a fix Let's be clear on what we're saying here. Fix - as in the ballot is being managed somehow (a UK version of Trump gushing orange tears) ? - probably not. Fix - as in the amount of money and influence that powerful people can throw at elections to m...

Re: Vote!
As someone who doesn't vote you don't get to have an opinion, but if you want one, who are going to kick them out, there's no one better on the ballot papers? Do you think that is a coincidence? Also, if you are going to have a jab at me every time i post on a thread can you just put me back on ign...

Re: Vote!
Lots of local talk around here about the next election, every time I think the torries are on the way out I just remember who they're up against and realise we're in for another term of Conservatives in No.10 I fucking hope not. I think there will be even more divide in the country if they do. Make...

Re: The Crazy Uber
I was in an uber a few weeks ago and it turned out he earned more than i do in IT. I am actually quite tempted to start doing some ubering. I have very good knowledge of the south west especially Bristol/Bath and South Glos. Do you have to fight to get the clients? can you be sitting around for hou...

Re: The Crazy Uber
I just can't take thick people trying to play at being boss. Unfortunately, that commonly comes with the territory. I took a part time job as an orange bibbed B&Q monkey, mostly to pay my bike tyre and fuel bills. I found it cool to have that safety net of 'I don't need to be here',so I can...

Re: The Crazy Uber
Pony says in this thread £200 a day is easy. Before or after fuel, servicing, insurance ? Before, that is the rub tbh. Insurance looks to be about £1800 for me, plus a car newer than 2014 (mines 2006!) plus fuel, servicing etc as you say, all adding up. Google says average pay for Uber driver is 24...

Re: The Crazy Uber
Upon reflection it sounds a bit wank tbh, driving people around. No idea what it pays but I bet it’s not loads. I fancy a job where you don’t have to use your brain or take any stress, but driving perhaps isn’t it. Stacking shelves in Aldi is more my level, or maybe the warehouse. Guy i spoke to sa...

Re: In todays news...
I didn't take the vaccine because the government told me to, i did it for exactly the same reason as I get my children vaccinated. Because it's a sensible idea  I think this because I understand how they work (not literally, as in, what the point of them is) and what they do. Not everything &q...

Re: Forum Extravaganza ! Saturday 27th - Sunday 28th July - Castle Combe / Wiltshire.
I certainly hope so. A nice pub, or a posh hotel, either will do. I think the cross hands on the a46 has quite a lot of accommodation and has a massive car park. I used to meet up with scoobynet members there when i had my impreza before going to Castle coombe 10 mins up the road. Also, there are s...
