Re: Keeping Dog Safe.
Round metal poles (painted white) bracketed to the wall from floor up and tie wrap some netting/mesh to them.Would look better if on the wall itself but the pillars might be a problem as he'll still be able to climb on them (and he'll soon realise he can use his weight to bend the mesh over the ...

Re: Anyone fitted air con?
I've got 8 of them  7 are 9,000 BTU's with the big boy in the living room being 18,000 BTU's. I don't use them much during the day unless it's over 40 degrees, the thick granite walls tend to keep most of the heat at bay, with the downside being that they tend to release it later in the ...

Re: Have we got a 'Show us your pets' thread?
Found these 3 in the same village in December (pic was taken in February, they've grown a lot since then). Born to a stray I'd been feeding for months, I was told she had been spayed but obviously not  Born 50 metres away from the municipality shelter which exists solely to capture ...

Re: Have we got a 'Show us your pets' thread?
This little beauty is Lady. Found her in October living in filth under a trash bin in the next village with a fractured hip. Took a couple of weeks of feeding her to gain her trust before I could get her in the car and to the vet. She's had 2 operations and is now happilly charging round the field ...

Re: Dog owners - raw food - thoughts, experiences, facts?
I've been feeding raw for about 15 years, my lot go through approx 16kg a week (mixed with dry food, but for the lack of freezer space I'd double their raw intake and stop with the dry food).

Re: Rugby World Cup
England were very good. They went into the game as underdogs, within the first 3 minutes lost their wonderboy who many thought would bring the pack back to its former glory and spent the next 77 minutes putting Argentina under so much pressure that they never got their game together, despite having ...

Re: Early Friday thread. Summer, sometimes
Bugger all until Sunday (a few beers with mates), it's too hot and set to get hotter next week. Yeah, yeah, expats moaning about the weather, but we've not long come down from temps in the 40's and I'd hoped for a more reasonable 30 (ish) next week.

Re: Council Tax
Q? Do you chaps that live in forrin parts actually have anything like the council structure we have here? I assume that central government does most of the taxing and hands € out to the regions based on population/need etc if the local taxes are so low.
As it's so cheap, I've never really ...

I couldn't disagree with you more.
I know.
The last time you got like this I stayed off the forum for a couple of weeks to see if it would carry on without me being any part of it, it did carry on and you gave two other people temporary bans.
Maybe make it clear it's a left wing moaning ...

Re: Box Sets, Mini series, films, etc.
The Last of Us. I'm up to episode 5 and loving it. Set 20 years after a mutated fungus gets into the food chain and almost wipes mankind out by infecting the host and turning the world's vegans into meat eaters (or something), the story follows Joel, a man with a dark past and something of an anti ...

Re: Clarkson's Farm, Season 2
A fair bit of the boorish behaviour is probably to make the series more interesting, I'm not surprised some of the locals oppose him as he'd probably turn it into a theme park if he could.
I was surprised when he genuinely hurt himself, maybe he'd planned smaller injuries.
Aside from his ...

So just like the sheep he has only had the cows for one series which was the allegation made by the locals.
He's blaming the council for not allowing him to sell their meat. I thought the original idea for the cows was to stop him having to use chemicals on his fields?
[The council order ...

From only 94 pledgers though, that's not bad going TBF!
I just watched the planning permission episode. Does make you wonder at the impartiality of planning committees. Well it would if you'd previously given merit to the idea they're impartial
They are 'considered' to be impartial ...

Re: DIY Dog Food
Thanks so far. We currently use 'different dog' brand, which say's it's hand cooked and it's not cheap!
Buy some meat and 'hand cook' it yourself (but not bone), it'll be cheaper and your dog will thank you  Or feed it raw (but not pork).
My lot go through 14kg of raw meat and 10kg of ...
