Re: Council Tax
Just under a hundred quid a month.
I think it's a quirk of the system, the current place is band a despite being worth more than my previous one which was band d from memory.
I get the 25% single occupant discount too.
Isn't the biggest expense for it schools? I think you pay less than me per person Funky.

Re: Council Tax
In Thame 8 years ago, we were paying £300 a month. But was a big place.
Now we pay €800 for the villa and all the vehicles.
All under same banner.

and two weeks ago they 'forgot' to collect my bins. I'm not actually sure what I pay for these days? Everything about my council is pretty shit.

Re: Council Tax
£0....
The Diocese pays for that, one of the perks of a house for duty scenario. Would be around £140/month otherwise. We do pay for garden waste collection though as the wife uses that a lot.

Re: Council Tax
£330 a month - but that's 10 monthly payments per year. (The garden bins are extra).
The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

Re: Council Tax
I looked at the budget for ours out of curiosity. By far the biggest expenses are adult and child social care. Which would explain why they appear to do nothing....I don't use those services.
I'm pretty sure I'd rather be paying more tax and using less social care anyway
