Re: 2017-20 vs 2021on KTM 1290 Super Adventure

Hi I have a 22 and so far so good. 2.5k miles in and Very happy with it so far. I just leave the suspension on Auto and it does what I want it to. Fast comfortable and relatively economical-a recent 1600 Mike trip averaged 55mpg overall. TheKTM app isn’t the best but ok. Got a Europe trip planned on...

Re: GS 1250.

Hi I demoed one of these at the weekend to see what all of the fuss is about thinking millions of people can’t be wrong. I’ve never heard anyone who has one say anything bad-quite the reverse. To be fair I thought it was fantastic. Fast comfortable and really nice handling bike. I’m seriously tempte...

Re: Getting old!!!!

Hi Thanks for replies so far. I am actually reasonably fit for my age and am a regular mountain biker. Normal weight and healthy diet with only moderate drinking. Admittedly maybe not as flexible as I could be so maybe I could try some stretching/yoga. Went out again on it today and was fine for the...

Getting old!!!!

Hello As much as I love my Tuono I think I’m pushing 60 and getting too old for a sports bike!!!!! 😡 Been out on it today for the first time this year and I had to fold myself onto it and after about 100 miles my knees, wrists and shoulders ache. Now what has the stomp of a Tuono and the comfort of ...

Re: Not all Arai's fit the same...

Thanks for all the input. As a point of reference I have an XSpirit 2 and 3 and both fit nicely although they’re “race” helmets I guess and are fine on my sports bike but I wanted something more touring oriented and was impressed by the Quantic reviews. I also have a Hornet ADV but don’t want to wea...

Re: Not all Arai's fit the same...

Hi Thinking about buying a new Quantic but concerned that I had the same problem with my last RX7-V as posted above. My original RX7XX was perfect but ended up selling the V as it was just too tight across my forehead. Tried a Debut and Profile on in the dealer this week and they were very comfortab...

Re: KTM Adventure 890R

Cheers so does that mean I can only use KTM or Yamaha mirrors or are there some adaptors?
I’ve looked on line but it’s fair to say I’m confused
Thanks

KTM Adventure 890R

Hi Got a new 890 Adventure R this week and only done 100 miles so far but early signs at positive. My issue is the mirrors-they work well and are vibe free but I just don’t like the Mickey Mouse ears look. However the RH mirror is a standard thread but has a kind of adaptor under it to raise them up...

Re: Reassessing my bike needs

Hi again So the GT is sold and I think I’ve narrowed the choice down to 2. KTM 890R Adventure and Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro. The KTM is more off-road biased and the Triumph slightly more road biased but both capable of covering all bases. There is no KTM R demo available locally so I’ve got a demo...

Re: Reassessing my bike needs

Hi thanks for all of the replies. Being pragmatic means lack of space rules out a third bike. I definitely want something I can tour on including some Euro trips and being realistic I appreciate it’ll mainly be on the road but the state of some road surfaces and a desire to explore some backroads an...

Re: Reassessing my bike needs

Hi Thanks for the replies it makes interesting reading. Excuse my ignorance but what model are 690(KTM?) and 501/701? Any other good models to look at? Please bear in mind I’ll mainly be doing road touring/trips and I’m just looking at mild off road not full on Enduro and I’ll only be going out in d...

Reassessing my bike needs

Hi Currently have a Tuono Factory for generally blatting about and a KTM Superduke GT for touring needs. I’ve done a couple of trips this year (Wales and Scotland) and generally the GT ticks all of the boxes in many ways but……… I’ve noticed that the road surfaces are generally shite in many areas, m...

I’ve booked the 29th off.
If the weather is half decent it’ll be either Whitby for fish and chips or up to Hawes and around the Dales

Re: Would you buy a Aprilia tuono 1100v4 ???

Hi
I took my KTM to the dealer for some work and whilst I couldn’t go into the showroom I was looking through the window at both 660 models.
They just look like baby versions of the bigger bikes.
They look nice though and I’d love to try them just out of curiosity.
Cheers
